RARE TITLEIST CUSTOM GRIND IRON'S

90...thats one i havent seen before.... never seen a grind above 90...wonder if there is one for 1-90? ive owned 7 sets that were different and seen probably 20 more....

Ok, they are soaking in vinegar at the moment, once I give them a clean I'll post some better pics. Seen to be in ok condition just need new shafts abs grips.

Most of the rust gone just an idea of the condition pw 7 and 3 iron, I'm thinking of black oxide look with white blue paint fill. Like I do my wedges.

Love all the Tour Model pics. I played these all through the 90s. Even got one of the last custom made sets in 1998. Larry Bobka is a very talented grinder.

You in Australia ? They still have a fair bit of chrome /nickel in spots.

The heads have come up OK... Just waiting on the new shafts ctaper 120's then get them built... Ill update pics as I go.

I am about 30% through sanding my set after 2 weeks but in no hurry,mine appear to be a Satin finish, easy to work with.

Hi mate, mine were done using cold gun bluing solution, it won't work on yours, mine were mostly de chromed and it only works on raw metal. If you know any electroplating company's they might be able to get all the chrome off, much easier to work with. They look great.

They are back from the pro, hit a few balls indoors and they perform amazing, kbs ctaper 1/2 inch over 2° up midsize grips 2 wraps, just need to see how they perform on course.

Played a couple of rounds shot mid 70 with them amazing feel and distance control. About a club shorter than I like, have sold them now to purchase apex mb raw irons.

I picked up this set of custom grind #17 several years ago and just found this awesome thread! Does anyone have any info on the #17 grind?

 

These things are beautiful and in amazing shape but I've tried a few things to get them to work for me and I just don't hit them well enough to game. Anyone on here know what they might be worth or are interested in them? I can't decide if I want to pass them on to someone who might get some use out of them or put them on display once I finally get a golf cave

I have a couple different sets of 681's but one unique set that I haven't been able to get any information on is a set that doesn't have a serial number on the hosel, just the number 6 or 9, i'm guessing these are some sort of custom grind but there is no noticable difference between these and the stock 681's that I can notice....

I have a set of Titleist Tour Model Custom Grind Bullet Backs that I believe are pretty rare and was hoping someone may have more info. They are 2-pw but I believe are 93 or 94 models. I beleive they are rare becuase bullet backs were made in 86-90 and had diamonds on the face. Mine do not have diamonds, or rings on the hosel and the pitching wedge has "P" instead of text indicating newer production. All have matching serial numbers on the fuerrels (23386) and the grind is #5. My understanding is that they did make a few bullet backs after 90 but to get them as custom grinds was very rare. They have DG S-400's and are in pretty good shape.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I need some info:

Currently gaming a set of 680s 3 through wedge and looking to add a blade 2 iron. Since Titleist doesn't offer a 620MB 2 iron, I browsed through the bay and found a NOS 1987 Box Blade 2 iron. Do you guys think that this 2 iron would go well with my 680s?
