Nice. I like that they show the grind so clearly.

Did you see any in different finishes?

No reason to mess with something that is proven to be great. Same way at this point with the AP2's, just don't do something stupid and mess it up.

Don't get me wrong I like them, but it will take some time to get used to not having titlest or Vokey on the lower portion of the backside. But man, good to finally get a look at the new offering.

Nice and clean. Has the head shape changed at all? The heel and toe look a little shallower, creating a longer softer look.
I've always liked the high toe of the 200 series.

Just don't see why the forged price for a cast wedge. Titliest over charges for everything they sell. Not to say it doesn't perform.... But your paying for the badge not higher quality these days. Just IMO

At least you know that there will not be another new one for two years. Nothing like wanting the latest a and greatest and then a new version coming out months later.

I managed to get a look at the spec sheet for the new SM5's this morning. Three finishes. The raw black looks pretty good. Lofts from 46 to 62. Grinds: F, K, M and T I think. Not 100%

They dominate the tour for a reason. If it ain't broke...

Ok, then why even make a new one? The SM4's are still great and people are still buying them. If you are gonna release an entire new club, I don't think its unreasonable for there to be some differences from the previous version. If they really are just releasing a new one because they can and aren't going to really make changes, it's nothing more than a money grab like other OEM's get blamed for (FWIW, I couldn't care less if it is a money grab, they are a company, making money is the goal, I understand, but it is still worth noting). I don't really have much opinion on this either way, not against titleist, I have a 58/14 M SM4 that I loved before wearing it out, but IF they really are not making any significant changes (and I have no idea if that's actually true, but others seem to be implying it), I personally don't see that as a badge of honor for them (or any) OEM.

Yeh, in my experience, Titleist has a pretty strong hammerlock on the competitive amateur market. You'll hear people say things like "Titleist might not make the longest irons, but I know they'll go the straightest" (which obviously makes little sense since the Titleist irons are not "GI" enough to go the straightest.) Others who don't follow equipment as closely as us (imagine that lol) but who are still accomplished players still seem to be convinced that none of the other big companies can make any "player's" type stuff. I actually think these kind of stereotypes started back in the 975D era, when TItleist clubs really were generally much "harder to hit" than TM, Cally, etc. Since then, Titleist has definitely released stuff for a much wider range of players (see AP1 and D2 series drivers) while the other big OEMs have released tons of awesome player's stuff, but, again, the view of each persists among a certain set of players. Not saying there's anything wrong with this at all, just something I've noticed going back to when I started playing in the late 90s.

Yup, with Vokey you don't have to worry about your favorite wedge being discontinued. Lots of diff grind options, and each is easily identified (M, K, L, S, etc) so you know exactly what you are getting.

Also being cast and heat-treated the grooves last longer, and still has a decent feel compared to forged.

I honestly can't see any drawback
