I'd give the new ones a chance or at least a look before giving up on them. Maybe the raw black or gold nickle will be better. I always liked how the black nickle SM4's wore and the gold ones might turn out awesome after some use

Just to really mix things up.... I too gave the Recoils serious consideration, I liked them, but it wasn't love. Then I stumbled into SteelFiber... No brainer... Done deal... Love at first swing! Once they were installed in all my irons and wedges, Trackman showed me the best numbers and dispersion I've every had from any sets of irons I've ever owned. Not to mention they made my long irons so much better, I had to change the top of my bag because my yardage gaps changed (long irons carried much further than my Nippons).

Then, in swizbeats fashion, I promptly got on a plane and flew to Florida to play on same real turf... Even better than trackman!

Ladies and Gents... I'm a believer... SteelFiber for life.

What grinds did you bed up going with? I'm not sure what grind that I should go with purchasing these things site unseen.

I would think they would be the same grooves as they are already maximizing the conformity.

Cast wedges are every bit as good as forged wedges. I never understand it, b/c I have never been able to tell a difference in performance. Also, you can get S200, S300, S400, and X100 for no upcharge.

I understand you can get several shafts at no up charge. But when I walk into a golf shop and see 20 vokey wedges with S200 shafts it is rediculous. I would be interested to see how many special orders Cleveland or Callaway get for S200s. Probably near zero.

I think most of us agree that forged irons either sound or feel better than cast. Why is this different with the wedges? And please don't cite the marketing crap from Vokey.

I think that Vokey's feel great. The metal they use is very soft, unlike cast irons.

If you've ever bent a Vokey, you know what I mean. Like butter.
