Here you guys go.

Was it $99 last year? And now only domestic beer can be had! :bad:

It was $129 last year. It was $99 the year before when it was only 9 holes....They changed to the domestic beer 2 summers ago in the middle. That only applies to from the cart though. They have always allowed any draft when in the restaurant (of course they could change that).

Included in the email to specifically call out:

2016 Summer Six Pack Updates:

  • 7 day booking window for all rounds
  • $149 + tax per person
  • Non-craft domestic beer now only beer option with drink punches

We were told that last summer as well... Just saying. Either way, it is still a phenomenal deal.

Played Ambiente Saturday. Nice layout, good conditions, with the exception of a few green edges, where the ground was dry and cracked. I don't remember which holes, but it was at least two.

Easy to find balls in the long grass there - good grief, I must have found 20, lost one in the water off the tee on #4 or 5?

Greens rolled true, not as much break as I expected, burnt a lot of edges.

Played Southern Dunes yesterday.

Great conditions. Greens were reasonably quick, but also accepting of shots.

I had only played Southern Dunes once before, and it's amazing how different a course feels and looks when you are a better player.

Had a really good time, and I can see why so many people like the layout.

I ended up playing with a fellow who was practicing for the Qualifier this week.

Nothing like hitting your best drive of the day only to find your ball right next to the guy who hit 3 wood from two tees back!

TPC Stadium was awesome, first time playing it. Greens were deceptively fast and fairways were amazing. Bunkers are the best in Arizona.

Southern Dunes is in the best shape Ive seen it in a while. Not a bad lie in the fairway, bunkers were amazing, and the greens were perfect/ receptive.

Played Papago on Saturday morning...course was in great shape...bunkers are a little thin still but greens were rolling great and the fairways were in good shape with some wet spots but nothing out of the ordinary.

On a side note...my dad is flying out next week and i was thinking of taking him to We Ko Pa Cholla. Does anyone know what the conditions are like this time of year there? I played there once last year in July and the course was not in good shape and I'm a little hesitant as they will be closing soon to transition the new greens.

Thanks in advance.

I just played there Saturday. Conditions were good, fast and firm. The issue I had was pace of play. Every hole we had to wait for one or two groups to tee off. The ranger didn't care.

I actually find that encouraging to hear that they are performing maintenance.

Maintenance may be too generous a term...

I was out there yesterday and wondered how long ago they'd been punched. The more exposed holes seemed to be recovering quicker than the others. Never been out there before, but (punched greens aside) I've played worse conditioned public courses here in the Bay Area the past couple years than Apache. Worth the $40 IMHO.

Toka sticks today, they are growing some of the greens a littler larger, like the front portion of 1, 11, and 16 to make for better front hole locations, as 11 was borderline unplayable with a front pin. They are also growing some fescue on the mounding of 7. Greens not as nice as they once were, hopefully it's just transitioning but it looks like the greens have like 4 different types of grass growing up

They're reshaping the greens on 1, 7, 11, 13, 17 and 18 for more pin locations. Last year the greens sucked until mid June I think, but they had the course in awesome condition for the summer. Well worth 30 before noon and 20 after.

I played yesterday (Monday). Fantastic shape. Only issue I had with the course was that I had trouble finding my ball mark on the greens. Firm.

Pace of play - There were four groups on the 14th hole at the same time. Not a ranger to be seen. Still finished in 4:30 tho.

Paid $14 today at 956, with its proximity to home it may become my go to summer track since #3 is due any day now

Where did you get that price? Same here though, toka is right down the street and budget friendly.

Haven't been that adventurous since moving back though so I want to play southern dunes, karsten, tpc stadium, aguilla and Dino mountain this year.

Played Toka on Monday @ that 09:56 Tee Off time. I always feel guilt 'bout using the "Deal Time" as the $ goes straight to the online vendor. Nonetheless, when I do - I walk it just to save their carts.

I also enjoy walking parkland style courses: Dobson, Viewpoint, Toka, San Marcos - all affordable and boringly similar to what I grew up around. Desert courses are not my favorite - but I sure still enjoy mountain biking amonst the cacti!

Another one on my rotation was Ken McDonald Muni. It was one of the first courses I gravitated towards post moving down from Flagstaff to Tempe back in '98. Living in Mesa now, I was getting over there maybe 1x/mo. Just this Tue 5.17 - and it was mostly a cow pasture. Many spotty thin greens, definite hard pan to bare fairways and some knarly tee boxes (which sux for me, I like par three shots sans a tee).

Kinda a shame for City of Tempe now as they even closed their Rolling Hills until 10/16 to rebuild its irrigation system. Can't they focus the grass maintenance efforts better now on the single course?

There was a period hat Kenny Mac was in really good shape after the new management took over, guess nothing good lasts forever! I used to live right by Ken McDonald but rarely played it, instead I too would hit up Dobson Papago or Aguila

Golf Now has that price also....but they kind of hide it....once you have the toka stick page up...when you scroll through the prices,....you see a lot of $30.00 ones, look for a the ones that also say "Online rate (+ more)"....follow that link and you get to the 10 buck rate, plus fees. Whirlwind has a 25 rate hidden as well, it doesnt show up as a hot deal...

Played Kierland today for $40. Went off at 10a and the course was drenched! We had to play lift, clean and place. Standing puddles everywhere. I guess they were watering as if it was going to be 110 today. Greens were fantastic, but very soft. Obviously one of the easier courses around but still a fun round.

Played The Rim GC Tuesday.

Wow, what a great course - good layout, some tricky holes, blind shots, and the bunkers were a little sparse. Overall a really nice course - great conditions, can find the ball off the fairway, and the greens were really nice - receptive and rolled true.

If you get an opportunity to play, do it!

Every time I go camping I want to play that course. Good to hear, may have to plan a golf / camping trip.
