Can you tell us more about thes Nipppons? Specifically, how do they compare to CFS(Ping stock) and KBS Tour V? No doubt in my mind that the heads are great. Just worried about stock Nippons.

Oh they are but I am stubborn and go with a known quantity often times. Coming from the trusty AP2 710's I liked the old VRS Forged irons and they did not bother me at all visually. I just have to make sure they will stamp my intitals on my clubs so we can sort of match,

I demoed the irons with the Nippon shafts, too light and I hit them too high for me, I went with the KBS tours, much better flight. Really a great set, excellent feel and distance.

Fight it off and go all the way. I am trying to do the same. Wait to see the numbers and wow.

Give it a go and see what the card says after more than a trial. If these card says no improvement then go back to the old technology. I am going to try it.

I acquired a set of VRS forged this offseason and cannot wait to take them on the course. I really like the lighter weight of the Nippon shaft. Of course I stumbled upon a set of the new VRS Covert forged this past weekend and they are sight to behold. The pictures simply do not do them justice. Probably the most attractive set of irons I have laid eyes on.

I am going to be doing a fitting in just shy of two weeks. I saw these and may add them to the list. My only concern was that when I looked them up to see about them the specs actually show online that the CAST not the forged have less offset through out the set!?!? Did anyone else see this....Thoughts? Not sure what to think but still may add them to the list to try.
Can anyone share the experiences they have had with Nike golf equipment? This is a concern for me.

The stock Nippons are pretty lightweight and high launching. Good for some, not so much for others. I played a couple of rounds with the VRS forged with stock Nippon Stiff and the ball flight was good (I'm a low ball hitter), but the weight didn't feel right (DGS300 guy at the time).

The Oven fitted me into the VRS Forged with the Nippon NS Pro Prototype shafts. I get the same ball flight as the stock Nippon, but the shaft is heavier and feels more stable.

If you guys like these with the nippons in them just wait until you try then with a heavier shaft.

Better players who don't need the lighter shaft will benefit greatly. My brother ended up getting these with the DG XP PRO at no up charge. Still a little high for him IMO but the feel was great and he loved that there was no up charge.

I noticed that too. No shop around here has the forged yet but I did see the cast and, while a little too big for my taste, the offset looks great. I hope the forged would be even less but the numbers don't tell that story.

I love these clubs, as well as the VRS forged. Unfortunately, the stock shaft doesn't fit me at all. Hit them at a demo day with the DG Pro in them - so easy to hit.

The Covert Forged are the perfect combo of soft feel distance and forgiveness. I tried a 7 iron with the DG Pro in it and was in love at first swing. The distance on these are right there with the Apex series and other GI distance irons as well. I would love a set of these with some KBS Tour V shafts. Thank goodness I don't have the money for these because my i20s might actually be dethroned

It has the nexcor face (I think) that they use for their drivers and fwys. The ball just screams off the face of these irons, great feeling.
