What putter did you just buy ?

A Scotty Cameron Oil Can Pro Platinum Newport 2.

I'll need some help here determining who to send this to for re-furbishing, re-finishing. Someone ground the milling smooth on the face and seems like it was ground smooth in every other place on the putter as well. I don't mind too much the smooth everywhere else (wish someone hadn't messed around with it), but want the milling on the face, Suggestions?

I have to second the BOS refurb ! Everything about them is excellent. The best oil can finish out there ! Plus, they put the oil can finish on it for Scotty when it was new. I have 8-10 of their oil cans and all are excellent. You will be well pleased with them.

Thank you!

BOS Golf can remill and refinish in a wide variety of options. I'm not sure you're going to find a one-stop shop with a better reputation as far as quality, pricing, and turnaround.

EDIT: You'll most likely want to add some weight given the prior work would have lightened the head by a few grams. Tungsten powder down the shaft or lead tape on the sole (my personal favorite) would suffice, however if you're doing a refinish I could see why you'd want to avoid the latter.

The head weighs 320g so I hear you! Think I'll use the powder down the shaft on this one. Thanks man!

I'm not even sure if "Pro Platinum" and "Oil Can Finish" can be used at the same time? I think someone refinished this putter, stripped the plating off and called it an Oil Can finish. Paid $165 locally for it and ave been checking out BOS. What finish would you recommend for it?

Just picked this up from a wrx 'er. I have always wanted a Newport and thought I would try this one without a sight line since the new ones coming out will have them. I may send it in later and get a dot added but want to try naked first. I really like these 2015's, pretty clean and low maintenance. Excited to roll it!

This may end up kicking the select roundback. I like to keep a fast greens (summer time) and a slow greens (winter time) putter. I like the roundback I got a month ago, but I'm afraid on faster greens my distance control may suffer.

I picked up a TA Milled 2 (long neck) to go along with the TA1 I posted a few pages back. Stripping the stock finish off today and I grabbed this pic. Not sure how I want to finish them but I'm thinking an easy Birchwood Casey gun blue.

I also have the TA2 long neck.

Great putter that only we know about.. Sshhhh...

So someone donated/or a child lost their dad's nice putter and you swiped it?

Did you make a $3000.00 donation to the Athletics program at said school?

The last putter I bought was a Bryon Morgan Carbon steel Bombora and that was last year. Had it custom made for my spec's, as it's one beautiful putter that I never see leaving my bag. I have my good rounds as well as bad rounds putting as there just isn't one magical stick out there as the key for me playing better is to stick to one kind and get comfortable with it. They are not cheap but they are worth it considering how times a round you use a putter
