Garsen Puter grips

Recommended Posts

I tried using one last year for a period of time. I liked the concept behind it but for some reason it messed with my eye line while putting. My hands always felt offline and it lead to some serious problems. Other than that I loved the way it locked my wrists in and allowed me to just stroke the ball. Just wasn't for me

Does anyone have any feedback on which type of putter/stroke seems to get the best results with this grip? Face balanced? Toe hang? I just ordered one to try...I'm constantly searching for help on the green, so I figured why not. Now the only question is which putter....

Just put at G Pro Max on my Seemore mFGP a couple of weeks ago and liking it. Works well with full toe hang.

For those who have used this grip, do you think it could help someone with the yips, especially someone with an overactive right hand?

As someone who has battled the yips for years, it has quieted my right hand considerably - putting with much more confidence since I switched out the SS grip and went with the G Pro Max. I think the design which encourages thumbs on opposite sides really helps.

So, I just installed the Garsen Max on my Miura KM-350. I putted around on the practice green today and WOW. I couldn't miss anything from 2-6 feet and my longer putts were really close (I actually made a few from 15-20 feet). I normally use a Flatso 1.0 on all of my other putters. My "goto" putter is the Miura KM-006 but, I am really considering using this putter/grip combo in my match play tomorrow.

I am looking for some input on what I should use.....my regular "goto" putter or the newbie with the Garsen grip?

If you are comfortable give the Garsen Max grip a true test. You might just have a lights out day on the greens.

Hmmh...late to the party but I have to say the Garsen Max grip is unreal. Totally different and works as advertised, it does keep the wrist locks with the elbow down and make the stroke more pendular in motion, no wrist break. Now, it did take a while to get use to the idea and then some more time to get use to the feel.

At first, it is really really weird how the grip "forces" you to drop the elbow inside and lock the entire triangle. But after a while, it feels norm and good.

At 60gm, its perfect. Prior to this, I was using the Forward grip. While the grip had all the right comfortable feel, it was a tad heavy on my 7H. Now I am going to replace it with another Garsen Max and I can switch between the 7H and the other Garsen Max putter - my current gamer the 2 Ball lined Fang...its a PERFECT match :)

I was recently just sent the Quad Tour Proto grip... It is really good so far. Only have 2 rounds on it and wanted to do a full write up on it, but just recently got a new job and it's been too damn cold to play up here. Looking forward to getting out with it more though.

Whats the difference in the feel? It just looks like Garsen added a "shelf" as versus a triangle in the Max. Am I reading this right?

Original size grip looks pretty good, but after 2 years, could someone please fix the typo in the title of this thread?

It's hurting my eyes!

Tried PMing the OP?

Two months in with the Garsen Max on my 36.5" counterbalanced Odyssey Protype #9, and I've putted so well lately that one of my group is testing one on his backup putter.

I've never felt so natural putting. I'm getting very pure rolls and feel like all I have to do is focus on speed. The line is dead on putt after putt.

Ordering another Garsen Max for my backup/practice putter.

Nice. That's my experience as well. I have another Garsen Max (black lower) ready for my Versa Works 7H, my other "backup" putter. Just got to,pull out the forward grip that's on it

I have a bad habit of bringing my gamer in the house to practice and forgetting to put it back in my car, so I have two of the same putter. I normally use the "backup" to test grips, lengths, counterweight, etc., but for the first time in a long time I feel like I have found the right formula and don't need to experiment further.
