Money shot, if the black is easy to get off, then these will actually be better looking the MM Protos I think

That blade is stunning, i could easily use that if it was a different colour.

BUT is it just me, or does that blade have that cast look from the top-down view?

I can honestly say with this color scheme my pro combos are safe. That may be odd or a baseless prejudging. I get that. But I even cringe at these clubs sharing a bag with my CT 2.0 driver and performance 5 wood that's on the way. That would be loud lol. The perceived "beautiful" groundbreaking design of the MM proto is completely lost on me at this point. Of course I'm north of 40 now too, so Nike may be aiming for a younger audience so there's that.

I've been following this thread on and off (@work) from the beginning. I agree'd originally that the release is a bust based on looks alone, and I'm a big Nike fan. The biggest disappointment for me is that the Vapor Speed aren't forged.

However, after seeing more pics of the Pro Combos, the more interested I'm getting. I'll reserve final judgment for when I see and hit them, which probably won't be until February when the Nike rep flies out from Hawaii.

I think the new combo's look fantastic! Can't understand people disregarding these irons at this point, based on colour scheme alone. Yes, it is about the only thing to judge them on at this point, but surely judgements should be reserved for once you've all tried the clubs?

Did the Vapor Pro Combo seem to fall in between the current Pro Combo and the Covert Forged as far as size?

It's so funny how so many, including myself, scoff at the looks of something when it's first released. Then once we start reading the incredible reviews over and over on here the looks magically start to grow on us and eventually we give in because of the hype and even SOMETIMES the performance! I remember when I saw the r1 crown before it was released and was like there is NO WAY that's the real crown, that's the most hideous looking club ever. Then I hit it and read reviews and was like ehh maybe it's not so bad. Same with the red with the Nike and now the turbulators with the g30. With the lime green not being seen at address, I think the "haters" are being ridiculous. If it performs well, looks good address, and feels good to you, play it. Other than the lime green I think it has a beautiful shape. I'll definitely be trying them out. Hey the lime green may end up growing on me

Not a Nike hater (I actually think the Pro Combos are one of the best feeling iron sets in recent memory) but not digging this color scheme at all. Had they left out the black insert and gone with the Volt swoosh that would have been ok IMO. But the black insert just makes it looks kind of cheesy. Protos are sweet, though.

I'll be fair, the black insert makes it look like the back of this Speciale, which makes it look quite attractive.

Seems that the black insert is the more offensive piece judging from most of the posts I've seen. Personally, it doesn't bother me one bit.

Edit - if it can't be stripped, some hobby/model paint and clear coat should do the trick.
