Mizuno JPX 850 Driver, Fairway, & hybrid info

Would have been nice to see him tee it up a little and hit one in the middle of the face or even a little higher up and not always low on the face like he was. Those low hits lose a lot of ball speed and kick the spin up quite a bit too.

Just added the 3 fairway to the bag,
Nice compliment to the 850 driver.
Ball speed is hot, longer than I thought. Mizuno has made one hell of a set of woods here with the 850's.

I've owned two Mizuno drivers the past 15 years and both were excellent. I went to Titleist then Ping.
I would consider one of these.

The JPX850 is ridiculous IMO. Just hit it at Golftown. The blue on the crown is so nice.

I've read in the driver forum the shaft plays stiffer than most. Is it like that in the 3 wood too?

I bought the 5 wood in a stock stiff and every other club in my bag is an X. I got great numbers out of it on the Trackman.

Has anyone had a problem with the paint on their woods or hybrids? Mine is chipping off badly off shots that were hit on the face. Not skies.

I hit one of these drivers today and thought the shaft played less stiff.......

Wow! Being left handed, I had looked around all winter to find a hybrid to demo. They just are not out there. I had hit a fairway. I finally got my chance to hit the hybrid, and was about ready to pull the trigger, although I did want to wait and try it in warmer weather against the g30 which I am also considering. Now this! I am very much frightened off. If this paint chipping is a real problem, I do not want any part of it. Maybe if it happens in six months, Mizuno makes it right, but what if it happens in two years. I expect clubs to last longer than that.

Tons of use on my drvr, FW and hybrid with a few reshafts of each and NO problem with any paint

Just an update with the paint issue.

Mizuno are sending me a replacement, looks like I got be with a paint issue. So anyone on the fence don't worry.

Good for you. Was there any explanation? I figured they would take care of you. My concern is what would happen a couple years from now. I am one who keeps fairways several years You said the ball was not hit high on the face. Maybe they would not take care of it a few years down the road. I moved on to the g30.

I hit a five wood at a recent demo day. I really liked it, so I asked the rep about the paint chipping. He said he knew absolutely nothing about it. He even claimed that he regularly checks out this message board.

I also was talking to Mizuno about something else with wedges I wanted to order, so I asked them about this, and the rep stated that the only way this would happen is if one were to "sky" the ball.

The issue with mine was that the paint was too far down the face, it must have been sat wrong when painted.

Well I have settled in with this driver and three wood. Damn these woods are long, I swear I am playing an illegal driver. The more I use it,the better it gets. Had it it play
since december,and I am still impressed.
