Mizuno JPX 850 Driver, Fairway, & hybrid info

The lofts of the JPX 850 hybrids are 16, 19, 22, and 25. I believe only the 19 and 22 are available in LH.

I tested the driver and 3 wood at golfTEC last night. Absolutely amazing. The driver is money - 440cc, 45" the 850 is a beast and the feel of the Fuji TS VC shaft is money. Awesome job Vosh. The 3 wood is just as good and will become your new best friend. Also stock with the same Fuji shaft. Check it out.

Did they have a 70 or 80g shaft in the 3 wood?

Had the chance to try the driver in LH yesterday. Fantastic feel and look, low spin and long. Is up there with the longest drivers on the market. A must buy for all Mizuno/440cc lovers.

Is that not a standard price for that shaft when not a standard option? It is a lot especially when it is stock here in the US but I also think that is for marketing. Europe people will buy them but sales in the usa for their woods have been horrible so maybe thinking that offering this shaft in the states will help that?

This kind of upcharge is o.k for an exotic shaft. I paid an extra 220€ two years ago for a AD-BB in my 913D2. But it's obviously a bit confusing for Europeans to pay 250 extra, when you guys get the shaft for free. Mizuno has always had pretty different marketing strategies depending on different countries.

I called my local Golfsmith store yesterday to ask if they had demo heads in yet for any of the woods and was told they will not e carrying any JPX 850 woods - irons only.

I was pretty surprised to hear that.

I contacted my local golf galaxy and they won't be stocking the Mizuno woods either. I guess that means I will probably be the only one on the course playing it. I'm ok with that.

That's a very bad news to me.. I've been playing jpx800 3 wood for years and it is the best fairway ever. Still hope some online dealers sell 850 woods..

Do they have a shallow face like 800 or 825? Hope it doesn't have a deep face like ez..

The only brick and mortar shop I've seen carry Mizuno woods in the past 5 years has been PGA superstore. Never saw any at Golfsmith or Golf Galaxy.

My local Nevada Bobs (Greenville, SC) will have the full line of woods and hybrids. They are a Top 50 retailer for Mizuno and are really big fans of pretty much everything they make.

I posted earlier about Golfsmith. I called them because I thought it might be possible they already had demo stuff.

I think if you google, there are a few online retailers already taking orders. I have a local shop here in Columbus that I got my JPX 850 cast irons from that has already sent an email saying they are taking pre-orders for the woods and hybrids. I should check with them to see if they'll have a demo club I can hit. I'm a lefty and I'm interested in trying them out but I'm sure it will be harder for me to find a demo club to try.

Spent all morning with the new Mizzy 850 woods...fairway and driver. I'm currently gaming a X2 Hot Pro and lean towards the smaller headed drivers so was really looking forward to hitting this. Besides I only play mizuno irons. The 850 driver is a great club and will be in my bag The TS stiff fujikura motore stock shaft is a fantastic match to the head. Once I dialed in my setting with the weights, which is the 1 and 3 position in the fast track, I was getting great launch and spin. It was carrying a full 8 yards past my X2H Pro, which is a driver I really like and hit well. The adjustment on this driver really works and is noticeable when you play around with the settings. The head looks a bit bigger than 440cc, but still nothing like the bigger 460cc options out there. Likely because it has a deaper profile. I like the color and the graphics don't stand out. I didn't spend a lot of time with the 3 wood. Liked it a lot but need to put it up head to head against against my BB 3 wood with grafalloy blue 75S. I'm trying to set up a round with my contact so I can get a full 18 in with them.

The last time Golfsmith carried Mizuno woods and hybrids was the MP-650 line. Even clearing them out at $29.97 each, as the GS floor manager says, they couldn't even give them away. And the MP-650 fairway and hybrid were such long hitters. Just not very forgiving.

I think in the DC Area, Golfdom, Merrifield Golf and Annandale Golf will be the only retailers carrying the 850 line of woods.

Just tried the driver and hybrid. The stock shafts were Orochis though, Asian spec I guess because they were 45 grams and 50 grams respectively.

They had better balance than other clubs that I've tried with those shaft weights.

The driver was in the lowest spin setting (both weights forward). It does work because it had just rained and in those course conditions my ball usually plugs. I didn't have a single plugged ball. Forgiveness was fairly good except for the 2 huge pulls I hit trying to adjust to the lighter weight.

The sleeper is the hybrid (and I guess the fws). The Miz version of the slot, or whatever the design on the soles are, very forgiving. The only thing I can say is the Adams/TM slots would be the equivalent of musclebacks and this Miz sole cutaway/slot tech would be a CB. I hit it low on the face a few times and there was literally no loss of carry that I could discern.

I was already thinking of an all swoosh bag next year but the JPX 850 driver and hybrid may make me go blue instead of volt.

If the US release date is November 3, can somebody tell why the 850 woods / hybrids are not up on the Miz website and my shop doesn't have a demo yet?

With a supposed release date of November 15, Titleist has the whole 915 line up on their site and my shop has a whole bunch of demo heads.
