Keegan Bradley - Ryder Cup

Joe85

Recommended Posts

This guy is, for me, the biggest let-down of the crop.

Talked all this stuff (never opened his gear bag from two years ago, wanted to be on this team so bad, etc) and this is what he produced?

Webb was pretty bad, as was Bubba, but for me Bradley was the worst with all his rhetoric.

I never saw the draw in selecting him or Simpson. Neither has done a whole lot in a while and I could think of a bunch of people I would have rather seen. Selecting him to partner with Mickelson is a waste if you sit them a whole day anyway. I thought Bubba played well, he just ran into a juggernaut in Rose yesterday.

Keegan was an embarassment.

I like Keegan just fine. I just don't think his game translates into match play. In match play, its a win now mentality and he doesn't have that. Him or Simpson haven't gone out and won anything. They both won majors when other people choked. I cna't think of anytime they went out and forced victory on another person.

He played poorly, no question about it. He's long off the tee, but sprayed it all over the place. His putting is awful. I can't recall him making a meaningful putt this week. This off season would be a great opportunity for him to closet his belly putter and embrace the rule change and get comfortable without anchoring. Selecting him as a captains pick was a mistake from the get go.

His flop shot on 18 was totally ridiculous.
Huh?????

Keegan was a disappointment in this singles match but come on, he and Phil (who is not in top form) took down Rory and Sergio and you see how good they are playing.

Bubba to me was the biggest disappointment. Webb's chip was great today but he really didn't accomplish anything.

We can all second guess the choices, but keep in mind we'd be having a different conversation right now - even with the big lead we spotted Europe - had Jordan held on and Hunter not sh$t the bed again.

I think we should all stop singling people out. I mean all of our collective wisdom had Patrick Reed being the WORST person, golfer and Ryder Cup'er on the planet before the matches and look what he accomplished!

Did he really play that poorly? He and Mickelson won their first match, lost their second, then sat all day before losing in singles.

He's not the first person to go 1-2 in the Ryder Cup.

My guess is that there are people who just don't like Keegan Bradley and therefore don't want him on the team.

I don't have anything against him and he doesn't rub me the wrong way much, but losing to a RC rookie like he did today (Donaldson) after his perpetual rhetoric prior to being picked warranted a bit more IMO.

I get that they beat Rory and Sergio, but they didn't exactly play well either. Had Europe lost, they would have been burning Rory and Sergio at the stake for that one. I like his passion for the contest but he does have to back it up by stealing a match here and there.

Bubba was a waste of a spot and so was Webb Simpson. I expected a little more from Keegan but I didn't think he was that bad.
Bubba is easily the biggest disappointment for me.

Actually, I shouldn't say I was dissapointed in him, because I knew exactly what to expect out of Bubba . . . Our best player has the worst and most defeatist attitude anytime he goes over seas, and that definitely doesn't help.

I don't buy into the whole rookie thing either. The Ryder Cup is a pretty select group of players. I think these people that play golf for a LIVING have much more riding on their play at any given time than a Ryder Cup. The national pride thing is all well and good, so is the not wanting to let the team down, but you could pick any winner on tour and say he is under just as much pressure.

I thought Fowler played pretty well from what I saw.....for the most part anyway. Maybe I am delusional though.

Yes he did. Rory played like the #1 player in the world with his "A" game and was just too good for Ricky. Bubba=HUGE disappointment. All bluster, no luster. Furyk=Disappointment. Can't make the big shot when needed. Mahan=HUGE disappointment. Felt "good about how he played" after coughing up a huge lead when the US was still in it and desperately needed a win.

I disagree that Keegan's major was handed to him or anything, he hit some incredible shots down the stretch and made some huge putts!

Keagan is a sixteen year old or it seems like it. Begging to be on the team that in no way he deserved to be on. But that is Tom Watsons fault. I don't think Tom Watson could have done a worst job. Trying to win using the same formula they used when they lost, makes no sense. especially when this team was weaker

I think that Keegan sucks since his last win @ the Bridgestone 2 years ago. Therefore, he's such a big team sports fan, I thought this factor would give him the edge against his opponents. It was never the case.

Good pick for US (I think), bad tournamemt.

On the other hand, does a guy like Jimmy Walker cared, at all ? The 70 years ols grandpa I've played with this week was more intense!

I never understood the Bradley pick from the beginning either... The Keegan that was spraying the ball all over the place and missing putts was the same guy that's been out there most of the season. I was not surprised to see his first two shots of the RC end up where they did.

I actually defended Webb, but he was useless, and as much as I like Rickie Fowler, he did nothing to help. We just got outplayed and never seemed to have the heart the Euros did. I would hate to think that our US team didn't care much. Good on the Euros though, they were out there to win and it showed in all of them.
