4A, and based on these, the 5A's must come in sleeves!

After going through them though, I'm sad to report, they're not all ProV1x's.

They consisted of 59 ProV1x's and 1 ProV1.

Only 13 of the 60 had "ink" on them.

When are guys going to get more creative with their labeling system? I mean it's either a few dots near the number, or a straight line through the text, c'mon, where's Duffy Waldorf when you need him?

Those 4A Pro V1x's are beautiful.

I ordered some 5A Bridgstone B330 RXS balls, so I will report back on the condition of those. Came out to about $15/dozen shipped, but I really wanted to try out that specific ball as I think it will fit my style of play (quasi-old man golf). If they would have been available as 4A balls, I would have ordered those for sure.

What follows is a glowing review of Golf Balls Direct. Pictures upon request:

I ordered 17 dozen balls after much debating with myself.


2 packs of 4 dozen prov1, v1x practice and x out mix (8 dozen total) AAAA quality

1 pack prov1x practice mix AAA quality (4 dozen total)

3 dozen supersoft white AAAAA quality

2 dozen supersoft yellow AAAAA quality


Packaging:

the 4 dozen packs came in nice little mesh drawstring bags.

The 2 and 3 dozens came in neat little boxes that fit 2 or 3 dozen. Similar style to the lethal balls from woot.



The supersofts looked fantastic at 5a. About 1/3 had logos and none had any marks or scuffs.

The pro v 4a mixes also looked great. A few minor scuffs on maybe 1/5 balls. Nothing that I wouldn't play in a round that counted. To be honest, I don't know which bag is the AAA pro v's. They all look awesome. They have a few player marks but nothing insane. Just a few with dots or lines. The logoed balls I got all had cool logos like from nice courses.

Compared to the 5a the only difference was some very minor scuffs and a tiny bit duller white. Still looked new.

The only thing that surprised me was the yellow supersofts. About 1/4 of the 2 dozen were a different yellow. In some lights they were slightly neon green but in natural light the difference was negligible.


I'm adding these to my small remaining lethal stash and I'm ready to play! I'm going to sort the v's from the x's eventually. I'll make a breakdown of logoed and marked.

I just got my 5 dozen ProV1 mix. Only had 3 of the 332 version, so no worries there. But, what I found were 30 of the 60 balls were what I would rate AAA if that instead of AAAA. I was floored at the condition of the Hex Blacks, so maybe I was expecting too much from these. I'd have a hard time describing them as near mint. I'll post some pics shortly. My criteria is if I can feel a major difference in texture then it's a pretty good scuff.

I'll probably send an email tomorrow, but if I'm off based on my expectations, I'd appreciate if you guys would let me know. It's been a while since I purchased used balls.

Radiman, im not very picky but I would not be happy with those in 4A condition. 3A yes. 4A no. I think 5A should have no scuffs, 4A very small scuffs, and 3A like yours.

Ordered 3 dozen 4A Lethals at 7.88/dz a few months ago, It was hard to find ANY imperfection on them.



I just didn't want to tell you guys about it because I might have wanted to order some more this year. Oh well!

I sent an email this morning and got a reply in about 15 minutes. It sounds like they either moved warehouses, or have an issue with some pre-sorted balls. I am copying her reply below.

Received my 4 dozen lethal 4a and 2 dozen lethal 5a balls today. None had scuffs or anything. Only difference between 4a and 5a was maybe half had player markings but that's it. Very satisfied with my order!

My order of 10 dozen Chrome/Chrome + mix came today (ordered on Monday). 60 Chrome, 59 Chrome +, and a Chrome Soft that snuck in (bonus...haven't tried one yet). Out of 120 balls, only a dozen or so appear to have been played for more than a hole or 2, and I only deemed 1 unplayable due to a small gouge. At roughly $0.50 a ball, this is the best ball deal I've ever come across. I just wish the wife would have approved the purchase of more...

2nd and 3rd order came both excellent condition. Now that I have 14 dozen balls sitting in reserve, I haven't lost a single ball or cut one off a path/tree in 5 rounds.
