What Did You Shoot Today? (Continuation)

77-78 this weekend,could have been better.

I was standing on 7 tee @ 1 under on Saturday, made doubles on 7 and 13, played that stretch @ +7, then played even the last 4.

Sunday started bad, was +5 through first 5, then played the next 7 @ 1 under, then stumbled a touch on the final 6 @ +3.

I can play 6-9 hole stretches of really solid golf, but seem to have 1-2 crappy little runs that keep me from shooting around even on good days.

The new woods/hybrids/putter are all coming in to their own, getting more and more confident. My long game is miles better, and 3 putts are much less frequent. I am getting closer to putting it all together.

Pair of ugly 84's on Friday. First one was on a par 70 so it was technically worse, but ended the day with a +1 37 on the final 9 holes. Eagle on 15 and birdie on 18 to finish out the day made me feel much better. Scramble tournament on Saturday and played mediocre at best.

It was insane how many shots I threw away on the back, so frustrating, I hit 21% of fairways but all my misses except for 1 weren't bad at all. I missed pretty straight forward birdie putts on 2,3,8 and 17. Sigh, we keep plugging on though, striving to get better.

Wow that's pretty sick for the goose! that track kills me, played there last weds and managed to squeak out a 79 and I was thrilled. How's raven crest? Haven't played it thus year, always end up going to the quarry instead

Raven is in good shape, greens rolled true but as always a touch on the slower side. If I had to speculate I would say 9 or so...the day we played they were spraying some type of foam on the green that just lingered and didn't sink in...must be for growth or something...

Last men's club tournament before club championship.
Modified stabelford scoring.
-1 for triple, 0 for double, +1 for bogey, +2 for par, + 3 for birdie.
So even par is 36 points. Your index is subtracted and that is your "goal"
I'm a 4 so my goal was 32. Whoever scores the most over their number is the winner. I shot four over par for 32 points and won! Next was -4 points. It was super hot and humid so nobody shot lights out.

This is the very first "net" tournament I have ever won. I usually do well with gross (one win and two seconds this year) but net is usually low 60's. I don't have many 65's or 66's in me.

In some ways it was a frustrating round as I made no birdies. But I only made four bogeys. I putted great in that I made a ton of 3-4-5 footers for par. Really need to tighten up my short iron play as I missed way too many greens.

86 - making a swing change to be more upright and it is on/off. Hit a lot of greens and 1 birdie (nearly another), also hit some awful shots. Like Tiger says, it is a process.

Shot an 81. Couldn't hit a tee shot to save my life on the front nine and shot a 10 over 46. Then made the turn and miraculously remembered how to play golf. Shot a 1 UNDER 35. First time ever shooting under par on 9 and should have been at least -2 (missed a 2 footer for birdie on 18). Sadly, this is a trend for some reason. Played there a week ago and shot an 84 with a 47/37. Apparently I need to work on that front 9 score a little more.

My home course is the same. Quite often, I'll shoot a 40ish on the front and nearly shoot par on the back.

The front has more elevation changes, easier to reach OB and the longest par 4 on the course. My length off the tee is also a big factor in my scoring on the front. I just haven't been releasing my driver club head like I should. On the back, I can hit 4 wood a lot more and/or hit a weaker drive and still get away with it.

Driver was spraying , iron distances were all over the place. But what killed me the most was 100yd in wedge shots were horrible. On a positive note I played the same ball all round haha.

Just finding this thread now...

Shot 69 (par 70) by going 33-36. Last 4 rounds have been a combined -11, so feeling pretty good going into Club C this weekend!
