My foot! Four man best ball. Three of us missed a six footer, I handed the gun to my fourth playing partner he reloaded and shot me/us in the foot. It would of given us a first place finish and the grand prize.......four passes to the Grand car wash and wax. ( thats important here in California. We can't wash cars due to the drought)

Shot 93 with 2 triple bogeys on par 3s and a quad on a par 5 . Trying stupid shots I can't hit.

[/quote]At least you're honest, and realize where you are going wrong. I have a golfing buddy that I would describe using your post. I wonder if you are him. Not that i'm a great golfer, probably about a 12hc, but my buddy is probably 20-25 hc. The sad part is that he is athletically able to score better, if only he would make rational golf decisions. For ex., par 5, doesn't matter that his drive is hidden in deep rough behind trees, out comes the 3 wood, then back into trouble on the other side of the fairway in the woods, then thinks he has a "window" up 100 yards away, hits a tree trunk and the balls ends up deeper in the junk. etc, etc, etc. Course management is a difficult thing to learn as an amatuer golfer. I have a feeling you shoot in the 80's often, though.

Shot a 45 on the front 9 of Raymond Memorial here in Columbus. I had one awful triple bogey, but two pars (on par 3s which I struggle with), and six bogeys hitting three fairways apart from dropping the two par 3s ten feet from the hole.

Really wish I could have cleaned up that triple, but that is four shots better than I've ever hit on the front 9 there, so maybe all of my practice is starting to pay off.

Okay, not today, but my last round I played, which was last Friday:
Shot a one-over 73 on a course I have never played before. Personal best, at least since taking up the game again 5~6 years ago. Having a caddy (it's mandatory at this course) helped a lot.
Started bogey-par-bogey, but steadied ship to finish the first nine 2 over and go one-under par on the back nine.
Hit lots of greens in regulation and set up decent birdie chances, but didn't make many putts (34 putts in total).

The course is pretty tight, especially the back nine which we played first, so I hit a lot of hybrids and 4 woods of the tee and kept my ball in play. I think that is the biggest lesson for me from this round.

Just finding this thread now...

Shot 69 (par 70) by going 33-36. Last 4 rounds have been a combined -11, so feeling pretty good going into Club C this weekend!

--11 for your last 4 rounds is exceptional playing . Keep it going and I would bet u will b holding the club championship trophy

36-37: 73.

Even par on the 18th tee. Bad drive, clipped a tree with second, chunked third onto the front of the green, first putt catches wrong side of a ridge across the green and had to make a 12 footer for bogey.

15 pars, one birdie, two bogey's. My low rounds are usually a mishmash of birdies and bogeys. This was weirdly consistent. Hopefully the start of a good run.

Last couple of weeks have been crazy.

Last week I shoot 76, three over on the front and on the back in mid swing on a par 3 with my tee ball the group decides to start telling jokes in my swing, SPLASH one, I get a bit surly at the behavior and they tell me to take a mulligan. Next tee ball I plant 8 foot from the hole and can the putt, they are already to chalk up a bird for me, I claim the bogey that it was. Should have easily been even or one under on the round. Played the front very poorly 3 three putts.

Today, with week old punched greens, I am hitting my driver as poorly as I have in years, play the front side even par, 35 and go off the back birds on 10 and 18, one three putt bogey and dang if I do not make a SPLASH on the same hole I did last week. Shot a 1 over 73 with less than stellar greens.

Got a Late start today.......it was Hot(98 felt like 110) out there and No Wind.

I was 3 over on the Front 9 when a Nasty Front moved in and the Day was Pretty Much Done after an Hour and a Half of Very Hard Rain and the Course was already Very Soggy so we got a Rain Check and called it a Day.

Managed a 39-39 round today. And that was with two doubles! (Both of which were REALLY stupid BTW)

But the 815 continues to deliver. I hit driver on 11 holes. Of those 11 I hit the fairway 10 times! The single time I missed the fairway I hit it into a hazard and it was one of the doubles but I let some background noise get into my head and should have backed off. This particular course has 3 short par 4's with a lot of trouble that needs to be avoided and of course 4 par 3 holes.

On one hole, that is a little tight (well, OK, a LOT tight), I usually hit 3W in order to insure that the ball stays in play. Opted to take out the 815 and threaded the needle. Ended up dead center fairway - you have got to love that sort of consistency.

Could have should have shot lower - missed two short birdie putts. All-in-all it felt GREAT to be back out there on the links. There was some mud here and there and wet spots to avoid but I didn't lose any balls because of the rain. And I'll take a 78 every time out!

Played nine this morning and shot a 44. Thats great for me (28 handicap that just started breaking 100 consistently last month) my short game practice is paying off. I only hit one fairway and 3 greens in regulation. But my chipping, putting(16 putts), and short irons ( stuck a 9 iron to two feet on a par three) were great for me.

80. 40 on the front, four bogeys, five pars. 40 on the back. I was even through six then proceeded to go double, par, double to close it out. The doubles were my fault... Trying miraculous shots instead of taking my medicine and getting back in position. Oh, well!

92 (personal best)

50 on the front, 1 par bunch of bogeys, 1 triple and 2 doubles.

Triple on 10, i figured "here we go again".

Then par'd the next 3 holes, double on 14, par'd 15 and 16, bogey 17.

Hit a beautiful 280yd drive on 18(529yd par5), tried to go for the green in 2, shanked my 3H into the water, followed by a 7i into the green side bunker, hit a lousy sand shot rolled 30ft past the hole, then sunk the putt to save bogey for a 42 on the back.

Overall, I cant complain!

Eighty-elfin-four, to fade further into the sunset in course championship. (It's cute how my ipad auto correct inserted "elfin", so I left it).

Good news noted today, since knee surgery about a year ago, can crouch/squat behind ball and survey putts, something I haven't been able to do for an entire summer since 2012. Bad news, should have had eyes fixed based on what I thought I was seeing.

I've got the rest of summer and fall to start working on what I know I need to work on from Monte. It is so hard to abandon the lifeboat of my flawed but usually playable swing that I seem to revert to. And hard to overcome personal inertia and actually take the time to video what I'm working on. Pretty much now or never.
