What Did You Shoot Today? (Continuation)

79 today with four doubles. Playing in a three day tournament on a course that the greens are rolling like a 5. Super slowwww. Hard for touch shots to recept spin too. Few holes are really tight with water and OB. Put two tee balls in the water and another hybrid on a par 5 in the water. Other than that just caught some unlucky breaks. Hard to drop birdies from outside 5-6' when the greens are that slow!!!

shot 93 (+23), started off my round with five straight double bogey's. Had 9 double's for the dang round. So damn frusterating! So for the round I had 36 putts. 9 double bogeys, 5 bogeys and 4 pars. Trying to see the positive in this, still almost broke 90 and played like crap.

Tip for the day: Set your alarm right so you don't wake up late and show up right at tee time. Rough start with zero warm up!

Played two rounds Monday and carded my two best scores ever. 86 (+14) and then 84 (+12). Been trying to break 90 for a long time, and legitimately had a chance at 78-79, but had to re-tee a couple of balls and three-putted twice. Followed up on Tuesday with a 94...but we won't talk about that.

I play in the first group on the weekends. It's so hard to adhere to this very good advice.

A shocking 90 in our monthly medal. Was six under my course handicap (-17) after 14 holes and hadn't even felt that I had played really well up to that point, because I had missed about 4 makeable putts. And then my driver swing went completely, which is something I have never experienced before. Hitting fairways and being "long enough" is the one thing I can usually rely on 100%. Not today. I managed to rack up 4 penalty shots due to bad driver swings on the final 4 holes (including two on one hole) to finish net +1. So overall, it was a result that has to be expected, but not after how the round had gone up to that point. Still 3rd place in my flight, but I was shocked, because it came out of nowhere, and I did not even feel nervous at the prospect of a really good score and a significant handicap improvement. I was just happily cruising along, when all of a sudden all I could hit off the tee were either straight pulls or huge slices.
Thankfully, I was able to identify the fault on the range after the round as a set-up problem, I had widened my stance somewhat with the right foot. This is one of those stupid things, which seem to happen a lot to amateurs, especially those who started to play the game late in their lives.

I see a gap. There definitely is a gap.

I like going out early on the weekends as well to beat the heat here. But dang it sucked waking up late and and getting no warm up and just felt rushed the hole round. Do not need to do that ever again.

82 this morning. Started bogey, double, double, bogey. Woke up and made par the next 7 holes, bogeyed a couple more and had a nasty double after a great drive. A few wedge shots left me short, otherwise I could have been staring 78 in the face. The last two weeks have seen me card my lowest rounds ever at 86, 84, and 82. Loving this game right now.

I shot 80, 46/34! Man those 3 holes. 9 7 and 5. That's a quad triple and double bogey. Oh well I take an under par 9. Its the first I have had in a long time.

Shot a 78 yesterday in league play, a half dozen better then my previous PB. It's amazing how a score can change by making putts. I finally had a good day with the putter, 1 putted 7 times and only had 1 3 putt. Got up and down for par 5 or 6 times. Ball striking was there a few holes and on vacation the others, but the short game gets all the credit for the results. Got 2nd place for are best ball format and only payed 25$ for 36 holes, pretty good day tater!

I was fortunate to play an earlier morning round with my friend his dad and friend today. I didn't hit a single ball on the range and no practice putts either, and I went out and shot the best round of the year with a 75 (par 72). Smashed some really long drives, hit my irons and wedges great, and my putting was fairly decent. Thought my play was going to plateau a couple months ago with no real progress but it has really come around the past several rounds.

Played 27 on our public course Saturday. Fairly easy at only 6,300 yards and a rating of about 69. Hand two eagles in a round for the first time (and missed from eight feet for a third), but also hit two OB on a short par four to card an snowman to finish at 74. Even par on the third nine.

This morning at our private, just under 7,100 yards and a rating of 73.5, managed to card another snowman (while keeping it in bounds) on #15, but managed to birdie the next two and par 18 for a 77.

After two eights in the first round of our C.C and two this weekend, I have to eliminate those uglies!.
