Completely unrelated, but I've been enjoying black pepper crusted deli meat recently... pepper crusted turkey, ham, beef, etc. So good with cheddar and some dijon or spicy mustard. Bread is optional.

 

Spot on. always have some in the fridge for snacking purposes. Miracle Whip is.....dressing?....of choice.

Re-gripped the irons and wedges before dad commandeered the bathroom. I'll re-grip the woods and driver either if I have tomorrow off or when I get home from work tomorrow.

I live 10 mins away from course and we've got maybe 2-3 inches and it's disappearing fast with the sleet.

 

We'll see how much snow comes back around as forecasted

Stayed home today for selfish reasons, sleet was whipping up against our windows and kept me up from @ 1a - 3a. Doesn't *seem* to be that bad, we got a couple inches of sleet but its still coming down and the winds are picking up. But my neighbor just said our side road feels like packed ice.

Lots of wind and rain down here. Made for an interesting drive at 0530 across a tall bridge. Apparently they are expecting gusts of up to 45-50mph. Hopefully all that moves out by the afternoon commute.

 

Weekend weather for Waverly looks tolerable. 53 and cloudy. Yesterday I think it looked like rain so hopefully it will get slightly better each day.

 

How does it look up there around the course JJ? I think you nominated yourself as the official VE weather guy

Same thing here...didn't sleep well due to the sleet slamming against the windows in the middle of the night. Don't know if I've ever heard sleet coming down so hard.

 

 

Only have a couple of inches here, if that, but I suspect there is a nice layer ice sandwiched between the snow. Wife is "essential" and daycare is closed so no work for me today.

We got a "code red" for weather today so no work. The weather in Annapolis isn't too bad and it's warm enough that the rain / sleet are running down the street vice sticking much. Saturday is looking better and better!

I went out to Hobbits yesterday for the last round before The Troubles. it was legitimately a, east by northeast wind and not really swirling. Driver-4 iron to a front pin on 1.

 

Drove it past the FW bunker on 9 from the back tees.

 

On 10, I hit 2 balls. . .driver, PW on both from the fairway and made both putts. Greens had actually been rolled since last time I played and they were rolling nice. Only other soul I saw on the course all day was a guy going from 1 to 2 while I was teeing off on 9.

 

Weather woman just said some of this wet stuff could turn to some snow this afternoon as temps drop. Balto is really on the slop line. Apparently the burbs north of town got almost a foot, and maybe more to the west.

 

Here, we got snow, but more sleety.

I'm a pretty sound sleeper, but was up a few times as well. That sleet was really coming down. I imagine the cherry blossoms are completely toast after that.

 

The forecast for Saturday has gotten better over time though. What was originally rain during the event is now rain before the event, and the high is at least 10*F warmer than a few days ago. The high on Friday is also a lot warmer which could get rid of the last of the snow. Waverly seems to dry out better than most courses, so I don't think it can get sloppy. But I bet it's pretty wet and we are cart part only. More incentive to walk.

Our office was originally supposed to open at 10 today. So, I got up and got ready. Of course as soon as I put my shoes on I got another alert saying we were closed completely. Cool. Oh well can't be too mad about a snow day. Is it too early to drink a beer?

We have a drafty fireplace that didn't work. It has been like this since I bought the house in 2011. Last night was gonna be pretty cold so I said f*** this and went to Lowe's, got some foil tape and insulation, and plugged the holes for the gas feed line and power running to the area under the fireplace with insulation and put foil tape over the openings. Then I cleaned up the thermocouple and igniter with my golf club brush. After a couple pushes of the piezo igniter, we had fire! Too bad I waited 5 years, when we are moving out of of the house and renting it, to fix it. Better late than never?
