MD/VA/DC Golfers - Ten Seconds or Less

DT.. I'm assuming most of us are thinking it but it is like the S----- word... if no one talks about then nothing will go wrong.

 

PQ has been laughing about Waverly on Saturday for two days now.

 

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if it gets pushed back besides for all of the ice/snow... I should have all of my demo package by then, so new toys to play with!

City, any other B'more beer geeks. I will be up in the City on Saturday and might have a few minutes to kill/sightsee/cruise around. If I were inclined to swing by and pick up some brewery exclusive stuff, is there anything in the City now that is worth making plans for? (I am 99% sure I'll be stopping by Total Wine in Towson since I had good luck there before.)

Am I the only one who doesn't think golf will actually be played Saturday? Maybe it's not as bad in northern Howard Co?

 

We got mainly ice around my house. A couple inches. Drove past Bowie this am and it looked worse with the melt and hard freeze than it did when it first came down. Montgomery Co got more snow, but less ice. It looks like there was basically zero melt and everything is solid frozen again.

 

I think there's absolutely 0% chance Waverly Woods is open for play on Saturday. Ze-ro. I don't think that's being pessimistic, either.

 

No idea if it's actually not as bad further east and south, but I just don't see any way Waverly melts out by then, and actually opens the golf course.

Maybe head East? Last year when everything here had snow I drove to Cambridge and played at the Hyatt.

 

I predict my course will open next Tuesday. Waverly probably Sunday or Monday.

Not the immediate NoVa area, I'm guessing down to F'Burg. I think they only got a trace of snow yesterday.

Here's what can't happen : I have discussions with a course for two months about securing is 6 tee slots, guy gives us a 15% discount, guy opens the course, and we don't show up. Y'all get that, right.

 

So, I'm not calling it until Waverly calls it. I'm trying to get in touch with them today.

 

RVA -- I understand how unusual these circumstances are. If you cancelled for the sake of your sanity, no one is going to be upset about that.

I didnt clean my car yesterday. The ice was pretty damn solid on the car. Took a solid 15 minutes of scraping to get it all off. Even with warmer temps on Friday, I can see that sort of stuff sticking around.

Further east in Annapolis did not get hit that bad and I'm assuming it will golfable by Saturday in case we can't play at WW.
