My girlfriend wants to get into golf. Being a Nike fanboy (slowly converting to all Nike) I'm looking at piecing together a Nike set for her.

 

On irons, leaning towards last year's Vapor Speed 5-S. Is this year's Vapor Fly worth the extra couple hundred bucks? I'm thinking she will need all the forgiveness she can get but want to take her out and let her hit some range balls and see if she's a natural by chance! Haha

Can anyone lead me in the direction of where I can find the head weight of the Vapor Pro irons? Thanks in advance.

 

I have a set of heads coming in tomorrow or moday. I can shoot you the weights if you'd like. I plan on weighing them anyway.

Damn! I didn't know they were Jalapeño I would have! It was so hot and humid all I was having was waters and Gatorade. But for $200.00 we got unlimited golf, breakfast lunch and dinner and all the drinks on the house minus the booze. Great layout and you can't beat that deal!

 

Got to do some more testing with the Vapor Fly. I will say this thing is staying in the bag for the rest of the season. I have one more driver to test. But it's looking good for an all Nike bag.

 

Also the 3 iron VFP with the tour ad Di shaft. Took some getting used to. I have to play it pretty far forward in my stance. It's not as long as I initially thought but it's a little longer off the tee vs the 3 hybrid. It launches much lower and flights extremely better into the wind. Downwind or a harder running fairway it gets out there. 240-250. But it's a stock 230 club. Or in a tight fairway I can sting it 220 with no roll. I can see why it's popular on tour. Helps control flight and spin. More versatile in windy conditions vs the 3 hybrid. I will rotate it depending on the course. Really happy with it.

What's the latest opinions on the vapor fly 440? I picked one up and have played a round (about 9 holes) and it seems to perform ok, just a weird feeling. Thinking of trying to trade it for a new vapor fly and something else Nike on the bat. I don't have the fastest swing speeds due to shoulder surgery and feel as the vapor fly might be better for me. I use the same shaft in every driver, so I know it's not the shaft. 440 is a great club, just might not be for me. Anyone else prefer the reg vapor fly over the 440?

LOL.........Cowboys is very nice........never played it though.

 

I stay in the $30 green fee range when I play. There are a lot of really nice daily fee courses in the $60 to $100 range but to me they just don't provide enough value as my expectations are too high. The two courses I generally play are in good condition most of the time and provide all the challenge I care to deal with now days.

LOL.........Cowboys is very nice........never played it though.

I think the LCs run true to size to their regular athletic shoes. Toe box seemed a bit snug right out of the box, but seemed to stretch out as the round went on.

I have slower end of swing speeds due to many injuries and need the more forgiving without giving up distance. I know everyone here is so knowlagble about the drivers and would like to know which you all think I should aim for. I do not have a store super close by to compare the 2 or I would just go there.

I like the Fly version this series. Seems more compact than the Vapor Speed from last year and really doesn't generate a ton of spin to begin with.
