Here is my guess.

He was testing a whole bunch of 915f 3-woods, and he found one that felt great. But he later decided that he wanted a bit more loft and a bit more open face. And the club works just fine.

Just heard him say he went back to his old irons because he was just more comfortable with them. The 716s went through the turf differently and the look was an adjustment.

It's interesting about the turf interaction thing on uneven lies I wonder are the 716's slightly chunkier than the 714's, the soles of the 716 seem to be much more angular than the 714's, the 716 sole reminds me of the xforged 2007 Hard to tell in pics though...

Also, I think he's mentally drained from trying to win the 4 majors and coming so close and this is the body and mind losing that 5% that sets great players apart.

I know on TGW it looks like you can order them with any of the iron shaft offerings, I bet you'd have to go through a rep to get the hybrid shaft options. But I would imagine it's doable.

As someone earlier stated adding loft closes the face, which makes sense bc he favors a draw with his woods. I'm guessing he's playing to 16.5 bc with that AD Di 7x, it launched too low at 15. He went stiffer with higher loft to get the right launch with less spin.
