Did anyone who hit Tensei also hit Kuro Kage Black at some point? From graphs on their website Tensei is stiffer in the tip and mid section but I don't know how it translates into feel (slightly stiffer, more stiffer, etc). I have a KKB 70S and I'm trying to decide if Tensei 70S would be ok for me or should I go 60S.

Did you guys test the Boron tip version?

Oohhh, interested! I absolutely loved the Speeder 657 Boron and the Harrison Pro Boron I used way way back. Heard a few good things lately about Tensei.

Put the CK Blue in my G and it totally brought it to life. Performance feel and sound all perfect. Finally found what I was looking for in a driver shaft combo. Saving up to put one in my 3 wood

Can anyone confirm if the Tensei CK Blue 65 gram version is legit? I foolishly jumped on an auction w/o even noticing it was 65 grams. Is this a made for version? Proto? Any help would be appreciated.

Did you guys test the Boron tip version?

I've had a chance to test the "Pro" version, which is the Boron tipped version. I went through a driver fitting a couple of weeks ago and tried it against several other shafts. My final 2 were the KK XT 70s and the Tensei Pro Blue 70s, so I ended up hitting those the most, so I feel that I can compare those pretty well.

The Pro Blue was more similar to a Blueboard profile, except with a more stable tip. The KK XT was closer to a Whiteboard profile. I really did like the feel of the Pro Blue as it had a pronounced kick to it. I could feel some kick with the KK XT, but it was not nearly as pronounced as the Pro Blue. The KK XT had a slightly softer feel in the butt section compared the Pro Blue, but the Pro Blue felt slightly softer in the mid section. Couldn't tell a big difference in the tip section as the Pro Blue was definitely felt much more stable than previous Blueboard profiles, but it seems as though the KK XT might have had a slightly stronger tip.

Numbers wise, the Pro Blue launched slightly higher on average, but it was less than a half of a degree. The average carry with the Pro Blue was about a yard or two longer in carry distance, while the KK XT was about a yard longer in total distance because it was getting a little more run out. Swingspeed and ballspeed were almost the exact same. Performance wise, they just seemed surprisingly similar to me. It really came down to which bend profile I liked and was most consistent with.

In the end, I ended up going with the KK XT because it just seemed that I was more used to that profile as I have played the Whiteboard and Ahina in the past in drivers. I was just a little more comfortable with it. Honestly, nothing in the numbers showed me one would be better than the other, including dispersion. The Pro Blue tended to end up slightly left of the target line, where the KK XT was ending up slightly right(coming from a right handed golfer), but looking at the chart after hitting, generally they were no more than 5 yards on each side(except on really bad swings). I could have gone either way, as I was really enjoying the feeling of the pronounced kick with the Pro Blue that the KK XT didn't have, but I was just a little more comfortable with the butt section in the XT feeling slightly softer.

Any info on the Tensei pro? See them on mrc website but no specs yet

Tensei Pro is supposed to be a lower spin version of the Shaqx profile. It's on my list of must tries. That's the shaft Woodland is playing.

Whoa!!! Shaqx was my shizzle!!!! On it...

Actually the TENSEI BLUE Pro "Base" began with a profile similar to the Original DIAMANA KAI 'LI. Then we went from there.....Added Boron, Kevlar, etc.!

That is a 44inch FW structure. We do not carry them stock but it is a legit MRC Part. 44 inch version of our 70 GM 46 inch Wood shaft. contact our customer service line with further questions.

Yes im also interested in the ones taylormade has available in the line up for the M2 fairway. Only other shaft I've ever played was a redtie so going to be ordering blind or try a rouge 60. Trying to decide so liked reading this so far.

Just to clarify a little bit, the Tensei is the non boron tip version. It is not the same as the pro series. I know it's obvious, but things are getting a little convoluted, and feel it's worth clarifying. My opinions are of the PRO, having never hit the standard version. I do believe the standard version is the only one offered as a stock option.

Yes,TM offers the non boron version at no upcharge, but is it the real deal tensie or not? The tensie ck blue(non pro version) has a msrp of $199

Thanks for the reply! I actually was able to track down the origin of the shaf by the seller to the Nike Vapor Fly Fwy's. It pairs up very nicely w/ my special 5W R15 setup I bagged as a fun side project. So far results are good and feels very sturdy/stout which I love.

Curious to see if any of the testers that were comparing this shaft to the AD DI 6s have any findings to report. I know a few mentioned they were going to compare these two shafts, but I havent seen anything. Trying to figure it out if I want to get rid of my AD DI...

Unless you have a reason to not want the ad di, I'd keep it. They are very similar shafts in my opinion. Both very smooth with higher launch

Has anyone tried 3W Tensei CK blue 65 on a driver? I just installed Ping G30 adapter on it.
