Not sure exactly how this works but id like to try the 120x, 130 and 120tx if available. Thanks! Not concerned about what heads they are in.

120X off to Jas904

I just took delivery of the 120X. I think Pedowd posted after me that he wanted it next. After I give it a test drive I will PM him.

I took the 120X out for a test drive today. Mostly driving range and then I went out to two par 3's and a couple of par fours and dropped balls at 6 iron distances. There was a one club wind today and I hit shots with into and down wind. I hit two balls with my club and two balls with the 120X which is on an 09 Callaway X forged head. My irons are MP64 KBS Tour X ss one time. KBS Tour X's are 130 grams if I recall correctly. I did adjust the demo club so that the lie is 1 flat and the lofts were identical. Same grips too, I wanted this to be as close to apples to apples comparison with the obvious difference of the clubhead.

First thing I noticed was the 120X was smoooooth. No vibration whatsoever. Easy on my arms. No harsh feeling. Trajectory was similar, with my 6 iron going maybe a touch lower. Distance was identical, Dispersion was noticeably tighter with the Nippon. Next biggest difference was the weight. About half way through I went into the shop and put them on the scale. My iron is D4 SW and the 120X was D2. Total weight of the Nippon was about 25 grams lighter. It seemed that the transition from backswing to downswing was far less effort with the Nippon club. Perhaps this was because of the weight difference. My miss with an iron is a pull left and while I did it twice with my iron it didn't happen at all with the Nippon. I can see what all the fuss is about now. They are legit.

I definitely want to either re-shaft my irons or maybe even go to a new set. I just don't know if I can find a clubhead that I like as much as the MP64. My only issue is what to do about flex, Honestly my KBS Tours X ss 1x are probably too stiff for me now. I swing 85-86 with the 6 iron with a pretty smooth transition and I think an early release which is why I was interested in the 120. I know Mark has advised that these play soft to flex. The X really didn't seem like it was too much. I was thinking maybe 120S hard-stepped but that may be too light, I think the X is a touch heavier. Maybe 120X ss or 120X straight in?

Mark, thanks for setting this up. I have been all over the State of California this summer taking my daughter to golf tournaments and haven't been able to find any MODUS to demo with the exception of Roger Dunn in Santa Ana, CA which had a Honma head with a 120S shaft. I hit that indoors on their monitor and that was pretty good too although hard to tell inside, IMO.

Any possibility of testing the 105? I have a titleist mb head ready and waiting....:-)

Ryan

Yes! I actually just sent the 105X to czastrow today. He will test out and forward on. Will contact Nippon for a 105S, 130S, 130X, and 120S. Anyone on here really want to try a R in anything?

No problem, thanks for testing it out and providing some feedback. If you want more time with the 120X by all means go ahead and have it installed in your 6i head if you want and test it out in your head, and swingweight it up D4 if you have the ability or a clubmaker that can do it. Just have to swap it back when you're done. The 120X line is pretty short so keep it longer if you like.

I hear ya, duaghter 1 is 2.5months old. Was selfish on my birthday with wife's ok, played 36 last weekend! And no rush, there is only 1 more 120tx request after you. Just wanted to know if it was moving along at all. Keep it for a week or two if you like it.

Would love to get on the 120tx list if possible.

Currently played X100s for the last 7 years and just got fit into project X 6.5 but they had no Nippon at the fitting. From my reading the 120tx looks like the equivalent I would want to test and would really like to give it a shot before diving into new clubs. Thanks a lot.

120TX is so money. If I hadn't put $1000 into my MP-25's with C-Taper 130X, I'd be ordering some Srixons with the 120TX because they offer it as a no upcharge option. The C-Taper is no slouch of a shaft, but the Nippon 120TX would be my #1 choice.

Lists are updated. I will be reaching out to the first names on the new clubs soon. Some of the 130 list is pretty old so we'll make sure everyone on there is still interested.

Hey mark, I have the 120x. Is there anyone else interested after I'm done with it? I didn't see another name on the list.

Keep it for now until someone else signs up. If we go a few weeks with no interest I'll just take it back. I'd rather not have to pay to ship it out again if you're cool with just hanging on to it for a while.
