(NO BUY/SELL/TRADE POSTS) Air Jordan GOLF footwear - AJ12 Low G Cherry - 12/13/22

Why not both? In previous years we got am1s and Jordan's. This year jordan lows are essentially replacing the am1s.

Well the AM 1s havent been around for a while now. Last year was the AM 90s. And this year the AM 90s are still here. So the AJ 1 lows are not replacing AM 1s, nor the AM 90s. So....

so my 1 lows came in. I went .5 size down and they fit exactly like my 5s (that are a half size larger)

I went with the same size in both after reading through this thread and they both fit ok. I think the 5 is a little shorter but it actually fits my wide foot better. They are pretty comfortable and the 1s aren’t as much.

Got to play a round in the Lows today. One of the more comfortable Jordans I’ve played in. Not 11 comfy but just as comfy as the ADG’s. I wear a size 11, ordered a size 11 and they fit perfect.

How was the traction on them? Did you play in dry or wet conditions?

Walked a hilly 18 at 645am last weekend with the 1 lows just fine. Traction was decent in dewy conditions, but mud could cause some concern if you take a big rip at the ball. Comfort wise, comparing to other recent Nike spikeless shoes, I would go:

270 >>> 1 low >> 90

but I also have an additional insole in my 1s...they feel pretty comfy but also VERY low to the ground if that matters

So I've played two rounds in my AJ1 Lows and the traction is phenomenal. Played a 7am morning dew round and did not slip once in them and I am a big guy. I'm really happy with the way these perform and it's become my favorite golf shoe in my rotation now over the ADG3s and my TW71s. I haven't been this comfortable and stable since my Nike LC4s.

Got shadows from Puetz.  Not sure if i should have sized down as they’re definitely tighter. Should loosen up with wear though i hope

Looks great! Can you elaborate on what you did. The all whites look awful to me.

Pretty much got everything on Amazon.

1. Taped everything off so I didn’t have to be super careful

2. “De-glazed” the factory finish on the areas of the leather I wanted to paint with isopropyl alcohol and alcohol wipes

3. Used the thinner to thin the grey for the sock liner. I was only intending to do the visible part of the sock liner but I thought I might as well just “finish the job” so I did the whole thing

4. (3) light coats of the light grey paint, drying in-between of course. I did not thin the grey paint for the leather.
5. (2) coats of the Matte finisher, drying in-between coats.
6. Remove tape 😊

The finished pictures look darker than the actual tone in-person.

did you use a paint sponge for the sock liner?

My humble suggestion is to use gac900 for the sock liner. It's a great medium for fabric that will keep the liner soft!

Great job @1vision33 !! Love seeing more people customize their golf shoes! Agreed with  what @blink3665 said - using GAC-900 (1:1 ratio) allows the paint to soak “into” the sock liner vs staying “on-top” of the sock liner-  will also need to heat set if using the GAC-900 for 2-3 mins after each coat -  this will set the paint and keep it soft while helping the paint not rub off on your socks.

keep up the great work

Couple questions for you and @blink3665, i have a pair of 11’s. Worn them a few rounds while travelling. Now the liner is stained a bit brown from dirt and sand. Thoughts on painting them white with that gac-900 stuff? Or, a way to clean them without tearing it up? I scotch guarded but even then, i cant get them white again.

obviously, didnt have the right tools to clean them after the round while travelling 😭

edit: when you say use heat to set, you mean like a hair dryer? Or something stronger?

I’d use a soft bristle brush and a cleaner like Reshv8r.  If it’s just dirt and not stains it should clean up pretty good.  If you did want to paint them you use a paint like Angelus leather paint with the GAC-900 at a 1:1 ratio,  and to heat set.  you could use a hair drier for longer, but the best way it’s with a heat gun.

Thanks for the custom tips. I'm thinking of giving my whites a try.

Though much is taken much abides;
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
- Lord Tennyson
