I found this 975D with a steel 6.5 shaft in it and it intrigued me. It’s also only 43” long. Thought, “what the heck.” Bagging it tomorrow.

LOL If I put that in my bag now all the worms on the course would go as deep in the ground as they could--- But if I had found it you know I would have to give it a shot anyhow

I also got a full (2-PW) set of MacGregor Tourney MT2 V.F.Q. irons out that dump.

That's a stunning haul. Please show some pics of the VFQ Mac's!

If anyone is interested in these please PM me - I will let them go for next to nothing. Looks like a small dent (and small bend in, towards the grip section) on shaft of 9 iron shaft. Small dent on leading edge of the 4 iron. Will have to examine them a bit more.

If you can get it elevated those were missiles and felt insanely good. That's a great find.

I wish his big brother and little sisters would have been with him, but I will take a single MacGregor Tommy Armour 945W any day of the week. Welcome addition to the small, but growing, Mac collection. Fairly certain this is authentic mid 50's, although it has been refinished at some point.

Ok, so what were you doing in my garage?!? Seriously, nice club. I put mine in the bag and played it for the first time recently. I found it to be a very consistent club for me. Good distance and predictable ball flight. Mine is identical to your's, including the part about being refinished. I like it so well it is my number one tee club, and I have stopped carrying a driver.

Nice club.

Very good to hear. Pretty excited to hit it right now. Recently picked up some M85's also that I adore, but can only hit the #2 and #4 until I get the Driver and #3 sorted out and refinished. This will be a welcome addition to the lineup. Just love the way it sits.

Northplatte-

What you have is the MacGregor Tourney Tommy Armour 945 Eye-O-Matic 3 wood, with 6 screw, R/W/R insert.

Just the same golf club a guy named Jack Nicklaus had in his bag for over 30 years.

You can catch it on a couple of older recordings of golf telecasts.

Superb club!

Thanks Rex, when you mention recordings are you talking about the Shell recordings on YouTube? If there is a specific one I would love know. Have watched the Hogan\Snead one about 50 times, will have to poke around, would love to see the club in the hands of someone like Jack Nicklaus.

Swing weight scale

I was really surprised to find this so I jumped on it. I had previously bought one several months before on eBay so now have two.

I posted one on Craigslist but no nibbles. Shipping one runs around $30 or so using UPS or USPS so not worth the hassle for me to consider that.

It's like golf clubs..can't seem to have enough golf related stuff *G*

That ok bud - we all make mistakes sometimes.

It didn't have the rain cover and was in rough condition in some areas. And they were asking more for it than was profitable.

OK cool if you are into resale--- I can respect that--- Since you said you are new to golf and the classics game a lot of times especially on classic stuff you can get them to go down on the price.

Oh thanks for the tip. I never thought to haggle with Goodwill.

Those $2 Titleist covers I found sold today so I'm taking half and putting it on my credit debt and the other half is more buying to resell.

Definitely very new here and learning what holds value and what doesn't. New stuff is simple, the vintage is tough.

If you want the bag I can try to see if it's still there and grab it and ship it for cost.

The bag was selling for $39.99 and then whatever shipping from Florida costs.
