i have always found that i strike putts better and straighter where the shaft enters the putter. this is more pronounced on short putts.

 

i continue to experiment with others but the center shafted is the best for now.

Seems I'm seeing a lot more center shafts in the hands of the tour pros. Anyone ever notice the majority of pros play high MOI "ugly" putters, while the the majority of us WRX'ers who are about 15 to 20 shots worse play "pretty" anser-inspired blades?

Haven't noticed an uptick in CS putters but yes, it does seem like there's a uptick in more forgiving mallet-type putters and therefore a corresponding decreease in blade types.

I really did not want to like my Cure RX2 Tour offset putter because t so far this thing rolls the ball then any other putter I owned. I think it's ugly and sounds like crap but the ball goes on the hole and rolls amazing. I've only had th opportunity to use it once on course since I bought it but I had 31 putts that round. Last seasons average was 36 putts. So shaved 5 strokes and it seems lag putting was very consistent and alignment is just stupid easy. Inside 5 feet felt automatic. And I felt I left some strokes out there where I simply just played the wrong line.

Just my insight on two CS putters I have (had) regarding performance.

 

Last season, my gamer was a TM Ghost Tour F0-72, which is not CS, but played very much like one. It was cheap and I was switching from righty to lefty, but bought a Ping Scottsdale TR Piper C as a backup (I go hot and cold with different putters).

 

That Piper C is a damn good putter. The lines frame the ball well, and TR is noticeable related to distance on misses.

 

I did become interested in the Seemore FGP as Ive been a big Payne fan. I grabbed the bronze model, change the red to blue for the dot. While the face tech is certainly years behind the TR stuff, the Seemore is just a really great for people who try to have a straightforward setup or rely on fundamentals in the stroke.

Certainly not a putter for somebody with a ton of arc in their stroke or who plays with shaft lean. But theyre great. Love LightBearer.

I've been toying with the idea of cutting a belly putter with a center shaft down, so now I'm going to do it! Lol

It was like that when I bought it. He told me scottys custom shop. The face also has a stamp.

The Nike Method Matter M5-10 is a real nice center shaft. Clean look, tight roll and easy to line up. TaylorMade Ghost Manta is another quality Centy.

I normally putt sidesaddle but when I don't I use one of these three baby's

SeeMore mFGP2, I apply a little forward press before the stroke. I know most SeeMore guys shun that but hey it works for me.

Just picked up a versa big t from Japanese eBay seller white on black with black shaft. It's causing me a problem as paid 160 usd and may actually be better than my betti ss28 center shaft which was nearly 3 times the price. Sucks being a putter hoarder

For the right price I'd consider taking that Betti off your hands!

 

I have been eyeballing those Odysseys as well if I make the move back to a CS putter.

With my last putter, a full offset PN anser 2 style, I placed the ball just off of my left instep (I'm RH) -- I'm assuming for CS I need to get it more to the center of my stance? Any tips/thoughts are appreciated.

I made the switch too and find that I address the putter head straight down in my stance meaning the ball ends up just left of center. So not near as far left as it used to be when I used a PN. I am finding that my line on the ball turns over much more consistently (not wobbly) with the CS putters. Even on longer putts when I would get a lot of wobble, with the CS putter line stays consistent.

 

BTW...I ended up with an extra CS machine M10 in my experimentation if anyone is looking...pm me. :D

It's a little sad that I can read through this thread and as different putters are mentioned my brain is going "Own it, own it, own it, ooh should try it, own it..."

 

Used a couple of different Scotty Cameron Bullseyes in recent years, then went to a Golo S5. My most recent purchase was a Bettinardi BB35 that I'll get to try out for the first time in a few weeks. If nothing else it looks pretty!

The Cures are fantastic putters. I have a 2015 Rx3F and hate the size, but I putted with it almost exclusively last year. If I hadn't missed about 7 3ft putts during out club championship with it, I'd never question its place in the bag.

I'm still loving my RX5, but just saw Cure's 2017 classic series offers all models in CS.

Is that Odyssey the #5 or the CSM? I had the CSM for a while and made a CB putter with it and it was really nice headshape, just the insert was a bit too spongy for me.
