Anybody play these with Px in them? Also, how would they compare to the Psi Tours performance wise?

Project x 5.5 in mine. Solid combination for me.

No problem. Is there anything specific I can possibly address?

I went on the Callaway trip, and these were the irons that were determine to be the best for me. I really, really like them. Great feel, launch, and distance.

Enjoy your CF16's. I absolutely love mine. They feel great with the LZ shaft and I am hitting a lot more greens since getting them. But because of you and the other seven, I will be ordering the Epic, I mean the 2017 driver, as soon as it is available for preorder. I have my trade-ins ready to ship as soon as the order is placed.

I played an older model Cobra Pro CB with the 5.5 and love the feel and flight, just curious of the ball flight. I've hit the previous version and liked it with the PXi but hated the feel the previous with the GS steel in it.

Then yesterday hit my sons new Psi Tours with the Px 6.0 and am totally blown away. Best feeling club bar none Id ever hit! 6.0 didn't feel stiff at all. Wondering how the Tours would compare to the CF16?

I have no experience with the other irons. I can play 6.0 or 5.5 to be honest, I just prefer the lighter 5.5.

Taylormade gear has always been long when I hit the products, just never felt 100% comfortable with it. I did just add an original rbz 19* hybrid to the bag. It's silly long for me and I was pleased with the on course results.

For those of you still gaming these irons... Have any of you found success with the stock True Temper XP 95 shafts?

Love the XP95. Has them made a quarter of an inch longer and a D3 swingweight

Bought a demo Apex CF 16 7-iron(w/ XP 95 S300 shaft) from Golfsmith and I love the feel of these...although it seems like I'm hitting this thing a mile in the air, so I'll probably schedule a fitting sometime this spring to try out some different shafts.

Pretty intrigued by the Apex/Apex Pro Combo set that is offered on Callaway's website too

I went with the Combos, they were a fantastic choice. I really liked the CF16s in the long irons. I like the pros when it came down to the 8,9, and PW. The Cf seemed a little big in those clubs. Probably because I hit the MD3 wedges and they perform just like them. I couldn't quite get what I was looking for in the long irons in the Pros number wise either. Callaway nailed it on the head with the combo set. But I could've been just as happy with a full set of CF16's. These will be in the bag for quite awhile. I ended up going with a C-Taper tour 120 shaft. I've always liked the shaft a little on the heavy side.

I was at a Golfsmith closeout sale and bought full set CF16 (4-AW) 50% off. $600. I was playing with a guy late summer that had them and he raved about them and I hit a few shots and a few more times at golf stores. I wish I could have hit at a few more demo days in the spring but at that price I couldn't pass on the deal.

Got my Apex irons in August. I had been playing Adams V Tech 4 irons. I was simply ready to try something more traditional. The result has been more pop in the irons with outstanding feedback in the hands. I'm a 66 year old guy with an 8 hc and these irons have helped me knock out a few mid 70s rounds. So, YEAH, I love these things!

I'm close to pulling the trigger on these but I haven't heard anyone discuss gapping issues. If there is any? If I've researched correctly these launch higher with less spin so they are stronger lofts. If anyone can give examples of yardage gaps between clubs that would be much appreciated.

I have no issues with gapping at all, with 4-AW in the bag. I get a good 10-15yd difference between clubs when playing well:

AW-110

PW-130

9i-140ish

8i-150ish

7i-165

6i-180ish

5i-190ish

4i-200ish

I added the "ish" to the end of most of the irons because I have a range I hit them. I know with a stock swing 7i, the balls going 165.

I would have the exact same gapping as the above gentleman

I played my second round with these yesterday. I was coming from the Callaway Diablo Forged irons. I love these things so far! I have noticed that these launch a little higher than the DF's. I only noticed distance gains on the mid to long irons though. I was not looking for distance gains, but it doesn't hurt. I hit a 6 iron from 168 out (what I would have hit with the DF's) and the ball went right over the flag into the bank behind the green. Not mad, I will make the adjustment... So far I am glad I made the switch!

I just took PX5.0 out and had them reshafted with KBS Tour 4.5. Better fit for me but that's purely a weight/soft tip thing. Both good shafts. These are great clubs. If I were buying this year I'd put these up against Srixon 565 and see which numbers were better but I'm very, very happy with these. I do have a little bit of a gapping issue with my lower irons so I ended up buying a second SW and bending my PW to 44, my GW to 48, one SW to 52, and one to 56. Which gives me an extra bit of bounce on that SW anyways. I love hitting these wedges full.
