Bungee jumping made its debut onto the extreme sports scene in 1979 and has been attracting adrenaline junkies since its inception. 

As if it weren’t hair raising enough, how about jumping over crocodile-infested waters? This unusual sport is popular in Australia and Africa, where crocodiles rank among the most dangerous animals, and has had its share of tragedies to date.

I have never seen anyone eat it like chili. It has all the meat and texture, add some beans if you want. Add some grated cheese like people do on chili. Substitute some ricotta instead of sour cream like some do and voila!

 

Eat it like chili. Add a grilled cheese on some garlic bread. I’ve never seen it. Am I nuts? You can add some heat with red pepper flakes. What’s not to like?

 

@bscinstnct will probably tell me it’s a staple in NYC.

I make a meat sauce like that.   It’s a vodka base , with tomato.   But I use  lean ground bison .  If you make meat sauce or chilli with  bison once , you’ll never buy beef again for it.  It’s not of this world.  

You can eat it just as is. But over a bed of capellini is where it does its best work !  🤣

I still wonder to this day if I would have jumped if things went differently.   A buddy of mine had to climb the main cable of the Brooklyn Bridge to the top of the tower as part of his training for NYPD Emergency Services.  He told me the only thing that kept him going was thinking about how much of a wimp he would have looked like to the other guys if he quit.  Hopefully the testosterone would have kicked in for me also, being young and dumb and full of it, as I was at that age.

Probably.  Good. If we’re making meatballs we can definitely mix some in.  My only gripe is that it be a lean cut.  I’m not a big fan of grease in my sauce.

Trust me how well I know the fear of falling now. In reality I could fall now and land a certain way and be in a wheelchair. i walk slow for a reason as in being careful. Hey if I am in the store or such and walk too slow for you go around. All the guys who play golf with me know. I do play ready golf lots of times I will hole out early and start to the cart to help the POP. Several in my golf league including the President and VP have told me numerous times not to worry about it take my time. We have an outside league play on Fridays because they lost their home course. One of those guys used to work at my old course and is a first class Richard Noggin. He made a remark about me being slow and before I could react my League President and VP jumped his chops. Basically told him this was our course and our league and if he had a problem their league should find another course. Being the Richard Noggin he is he complained to the course owner and he told him what I had been through and basically the same thing my pres and VP told him.

The flavor compliment with the pork is tremendous in sauce or in meatballs.
For sauce. Some just use Italian sausage (if you like fennel), split the casing and it’s seasoned, short cut. 

 

if you’re wanting very lean, then pork obviously ain’t the way to go lol

He could probably set me straight on this one but I recall there being a bungee jump around North Myrtle 10 years ago.  Tourists lined up for it day and night.  The story I heard was it was closed down after one or two folks went splat.  

I know about one incident well. The incident I am familiar with happened about 20 years ago now. I had went on the same bungee jump like 2 days before on a bet. Now I was not there when it happened but saw it on the news. A young lady made the jump and the cord snapped back violently and snapped her full bore back into the tower as you said splat. I know she had serious injuries and do not remember if she survived or not. I have not seen any here since now they do have some zip line parks though. I did one of those maybe 10 years ago. I have also parasailed several times in the past. Yeah I have done some crazy crap in my life like riding motorcycles and racing cars. Only scratch I ever got was a spiral fracture in my right wrist one night, I guess I was lucky until my accident after I retired.

That for me equals jumping from a airplane sans chute with a sharp knife in hand to cut your throat on the way down. The question here is will you bleed to death before you hit the ground? In my youth I did some risky things but it was a calculated risk and I weighed the percentages before doing it. On the bungee jump I had did a smaller one like 2 weeks before I did the one on a bet. Race cars I built the safest car I knew how and always kept my safety equipment up to date. Even trucking I had my limits. As @Conrad1953knows in certain Western states in certain times of the year you were required to carry chains as part of the safety equipment. Stu Rule #1 If it was slick enough to require chains then I was staying where I was at. Stu Rule #2 Avoid those areas that time of the year period. Stu Rule #3 I owned that truck and I said when and where it went period---- yes I calculated my risks before doing anything

I might not be the sharpest tool in the shed but growing up with a lot of crazy buddy's at least I always knew when to shut it down if I felt like doing so. Peer pressure never worked on me. You could call me anything you liked but if I thought it was a stupid idea I wasn't changing my mind.

Side track. Charles pan fried chicken.  You ever had it ?  Just saw him on the news this morning.  I believe they said 4 locations in nyc. Dude from NC.  Harlem specifically I think they said.   The chicken and sides I saw. That’s exactly how I grew up eating.  To a T … so funny to me how “ soul food “ varies.  This guys stuff looked like any Sunday dinner I can remember.

Amen there.  Nobody arguing a stupid idea onto me if I don’t like it. 🤣.  Being on the bigger than most side helped with that. I can recall several times where I finally said “ make me “.   They didn’t.   And I grew up with absolute outlaws.  I’ve witnessed things like a Pontiac 6000LE ( 80s crap box car ) pull out of a field with about an acre of pot plants stuffed into the back seat.  Pulled up by their roots …. Roots hanging out the front passenger side glass. Tops pushed back onto the rear glass.  So thick there’s no hope of seeing in or out.  Middle of the day. Going about 5 miles 🤣.  I just saw it. I had no part in it.  
 

 I noped out of a turkey shoot where it devolved from shotguns at clay targets , into a closer and closer range attempt at shooting through a 1/2 inch thick tank with an ak47 that was modified for fire on triggger pull and on release.  So 2 fires per pull and let go.  Incredibly stupid modification.  

 

I left the same property a year later when the cannon they had built started shooting the homemade projectile ( a Dr Pepper bottle filled with concrete ) through a junk car door , out the other side never to be found again. Big holes through the car.   I figured they’d eventually raise the trajectory and hit someone a mile away.   Was built from a surplus tank barrel …. That’s some mild highlights.  it’s a wonder I lived.

I’ve heard of it vaguely but thanks for mentioning! The only place for half way decent fried chicken around here closed and we been dyin for some. May have to head into Manhattan…oh, I see they just opened a location not far from Museum of Natural History, maybe make a day of it.

Oh no. We did that too. Old guy across the river had a metal rooof.  🤣.  Well. We figured out the windage and angle to rain shot down on his roof with a ground mounted shotgun ( full choke ). .  And  a turkey load. Would make him so mad.  But we 150 yards away.  With a river  in the middle.  Hidden.  There’s so many delinquents, you can’t pin it on one. 
 

the cannon is till in use. But the guy who owns it doesn’t fire it much.  Every once in a while you’ll hear it go off random nights. Or on new years.  The projectile I always found hilarious.  The dr paper bottle with concrete center was just a good guess. But the real trick is wrapping it in duct tape till it’s a tight fit. Just enough that it takes a ramrod to load it down the barrel.  Tighter it is farther it will shoot.    This all happened after a field trip to cowpens battlefield seeing a cannon fire demonstrated ( with blanks ).  Guy came back and remembers a tank at the surplus store.  Asks if the barrel is for sale. Guy says sure.  They cut it off. Then cut off the suppressor end , and bingo.  Go to recreating .  Boredom in the hands of the driven , is a bad thing.
