Are y’all saying that I’m being a goober for thinking the rise in consuming micro-plastics (two credit cards per month and not much excreted) might not be good for people? Am I being silly?

Yo, it just depends on really what is the actual health impact. 
 

How much accumulated, what organs, and what are the health risks?

 

it’s possible it’s got a material impact on health 

 

But, let’s face it, it’s definite that’s what is inside the plastic packaging….

 

Soda/sugar drinks, fake sugar drinks, processed meat, chemical preservatives (if they preserve food where do they do to your insides), tons of fat food with tons of chemicals in the freezer section etc etc and etc…

 

These things are taking years and years off peoples lives for sure.

No, I’m with you. Plus if you live or visit along the coasts you can see where a lot of that larger  plastic ends up.

I had an insane allergic reaction to a meal replacement product that was loaded with a type of fake sugar. Had I done more “Reddit research” I would have seen others had the issue

 

Its was brutal, I literally could not eat for nearly 4 days but, get this, I couldn’t even keep down water for 2 days maybe was more!

 

We finally go to the ER, very seasoned docs, and they like, “it’s not any appendix type thing, you just have to ride it out”

 

They saw how dehydrated I was on the blood test.

 

4 IV bottles I drained sitting in the ER!! 
 

They were like, how are you even conscious?! 🤣😳

The horse is already out of the barn for us.  We may as well puree a liter bottle daily and season to taste.  Besides the stuff going down the toilet each time prolly has more micro goobers in it than we ingest in a month.   I read it on the internet.  So, it has to be true.

My career is in manufacturing and over the decades they have done a lot to mitigate heavy metals and organic compound contamination. It's not perfect but the intent is good and it is much better. Eliminating plastic contamination in environment is also good but rhetoric suggesting I'm stockpiling 2 CC a month in my liver comes off as alarmist and hysterical. I'm sure it's something just like trace amounts of metals and chemicals are something but like other issues things are taken to nuclear red meat in order to garner attention and action. I can go further on this tangent but it will go butt hurt. So i don't doubt there is problem, think it's good idea to minimize, and I believe in the concern just not how issue is presented.

Thankfully being tall, good looking and having a wonderful sense of humor did it for me! I tried playing the sax 🎷 in elementary school and it was a disaster! 🫣

I’m curious, so I read through as many papers and studies I could find. I don’t think going through the chemical breakdowns, differences between micro and nano, endocrine, reproductive changes, etc., would sit very well. Thus the credit card. I could have said that the first bowel movement of newborns contains micro and nano-plastics. 🙂

Half way through 90*, late August football practice, you’d be dying of thirst. The entire squad, varsity, jv, freshmen, would get in a long line and a coach would have the hose, just like that one.

This is exactly why, not that long ago in another thread, I said “the pussification of young men”. Someone got super offended and laid into me fairly hard. It wasn’t meant to be crass. It actually derived from a conversation I was having with some of the other baseball parents at one of my son’s HS baseball games. As parents of young men and thinking about what it was like when they grew up compared to now, I can assure you they agreed with my assessment whole heartedly.

I've seen many attorney ads in recent years about Roundup causing lymphoma. No chemical

is mentioned, just Roundup. About 3 years ago I was diagnosed with lymphoma, i.e., all my

lymph nodes are swollen. 

 

I've had pet scans, and cat scans and mri's and my lymphoma is a non aggressive version

and pretty much something I can live for a few more decades with. They run tests on me

every 6 months and the lymphoma remains unchanged.

 

I asked my oncologist if I was immuno compromised and she said nope and that I am

basically disease free and healthy. 

 

Did I ever use Roundup? Sure, who hasn't? Am I calling the attorneys to try and score

some money? NO

 

I haven't used Roundup in years but I have kept right on using glyphosate. I'm just cheap

and I can buy the concentrated glyphosate at Tractor Supply for cheap.

 

I use it a lot to kill weeds around the property and yes, I often get it on my hands and

don't wash it off right away. I kept right on using it after my diagnosis.

 

Do I think exposure to glyphosate causes cancer? I have no idea but I have my doubts

otherwise why is it still on the market? If it really is a dangerous carcinogen, why can you

go to any store that carries lawn and garden stuff and still buy it? 

 

Wait, you mean lawsuit verdicts aren't definitive proof?  Of course they aren't. But 

Monsanto had to put $11 billion into a pot to pay people who "think" they got lymphoma

from using glyphosate. 

 

Meanwhile, generic glyphosate is still being sold all over the country.

When it comes to suing someone/holding them accountable, it’s fairly simple for me. If they knowingly did something to cause harm, I have no issue w/a lawsuit. If it was truly an accident, a lawsuit is as the kids say, kinda cringy. Just like the ambulance chasers that come on the TV telling you to sue the person to bankruptcy that accidentally ran into you.

I gave up. I pan fried my iPhone 14 with some onions and butter tonight and it was crunchy, but satisfying. My body was craving nano-plastics.

Gov loves tax revenue from cigs. Besides they know if they ban them there would be a

huge black market for them. Then the gov would have to spend tax money enforcing 

their new law instead of just sitting back and letting cig tax money roll in.

 

There is no sin tax on glyphosate that I have heard of, lol. Would there be a glyphosate

black market? Somehow I doubt it. My guess is other weed killing chemicals would

show back up or something new already at the ready will enter the market, likely with

an active patent.
