will be squaring off in a test of endurance. I've never actually tried to golf my brains out. I'm

usually content to play 1 round on any given day, sometimes 2. 

 

I expect I'll set a personal record for holes played in 1 and 2 days.....if the old body can take

it. Probably take me a week after to recover. 

 

What's the most holes anyone here has played in a day?? Knowing some here I imagine the

number is pretty high..............and likely more than I want to contemplate at this stage of life.

54, circa 2002. At least the first 18 was walking. I think the second 18 was too but I can’t remember for sure. 
 

Zero chance of that today. 27 probably my limit.

I played in a Lung Association 100 hole fundraiser in 1997. The company I worked for was one of the leading respiratory companies and sponsored two two man teams that would alternate holes. My partner got sick so I did it all by myself with a volunteer driving the cart for me. There were only 16 teams spaced in twosomes throughout the course. Although the objective was strictly to play 100 holes in a day, my personal objective was to play bogey golf. I was 28 strokes under bogey in the 5 rounds plus 10 holes. It was the golf version of Groundhog Day.

 

In my late 20’s, four of us played 54 holes in a day carrying our clubs in another event billed as a golf marathon. It was a lot of fun but my feet were pretty sore at the end. 

 

Today at 70 years of age, the occasional 36 hole day with the first one walking and the second using a cart is probably my limit.

About the age of 14, we walked 54 holes on a par 3 course.  My personal best is 36 holes on regulation courses duplicated yesterday at age 66. Walk/ride 18.

Would you believe I’ve never played more than 21 holes in a day ? And only once.   Was a match that went extra holes . I don’t think I’ve had a full day off and to myself since I started playing . 
 

enjoy it. Should be a blast. I  can’t imagine

True story. I order my own bowl everytime.  And ask if anyone else wants one , if they say no , I remind them when they try to get into mine. 🤣.  One of my favorite foods.

Back in my Vegas 1.0 days; it was exposed around my erstwhile office I played golf. So I eventually was being invited by the owner - who had no idea what I actually did at work but loved having me go do that! - to go play with clients all the time and any tournaments he sponsored.

 

One time it was for the Lung Association.

People I have been around seem to either love or hate avocados. I love 'em myself; plain or

made into guac. 

 

My oldest sister lived in Whittier, CA for many years and she had 2 mature Hass avocado

trees in her yard. Her 5 sons made their walking money selling them around their

neighborhood.

45 holes is my max in one day. I was around 60 and I was sore for two days.

As a teenager in the Ozarks I would play Dogwood Hills Golf Course in the heat of the summer... 90 degrees and 95 per cent humidity.  I once went 45 holes in a day... stopping often on #2 (9 hole course so I passed that hole 5 times), where there was a soda machine, buying many grape sodas because I was friggin' thirsty.  Didn't know anything about hydration back then.  I loved it, nobody else on the course... too hot.

Most recently, when I played Spyglass in the AM, had lunch then played Spanish Bay in the afternoon.

 

When I was a kid? Who knows? Mom used to drop me and a buddy off at the little crappy muni where for $100/yr, kids could play all they wanted - so we'd just just loop that track all day during the summer till someone came to pick us up.

Craziest from an endurance thing I did was spend about 6 hours at a range, hit over 300 balls, then did practice green for 2 hours.

When I was a kid no telling. In the summer no one was around during the week except the gamblers. Now we were riding and we would skip like 3 holes ahead of the gamblers. If they were at another course most of the time in the mornings we had the whole course to ourselves until about 4 in the afternoon. Now I opened the driving range about 4 because we were busy when regular working stiffs got off work. Walking in some of the AM events we did play 36 and I do remember I got into a playoff that lasted 9 holes making it like 45 holes. Before my accident I was playing (riding) like 36 on Monday thru Wednesday. I would play like 18 in the morning and go home. My buds who were working at home quit "work" about noon and we would play 18 sometimes 27 in the afternoon. Thursday and Friday I would make my one run up and be back on the beach and at the course by 11 or so. Some afternoons we played 18 sometimes 27. After my accident I have played the Saturday Scramble then the 9& Dine that afternoon but I only did both twice and that was rough on me at the time. Since then I have not done the "Daily Double" as I call it due to the wife and I losing interest in the 9 & Dines. We can play up at the par 3 and with me being a Member there too can play cheaper and not have to put up with the drunks and hats the 9& Dine seems to attract. I believe now that I am losing weight and feeling better I can do 27.

Had a good friend of mine that smoked. Every year at the Great American Smoke Out day she had had a badge made that said  I enjoy smoking so "bug" off. Of course it did not say bug. The smoke out zealots left her alone. She never had any "smokers" diseases I know of but died in a Motorcycle accident

I wish it were that easy.  It would take at least a week off just to gain the energy to play all day one day.  I’ve been on half battery for about 6-7 years.  Being on call 24/7 for a 82 year old father in law and a 15 year old son ( sandwich caregiver )  , plus the required honey -do list , and a business , plus farm ,makes me a tired guy. I don’t remember what rested feels like.

i’m sure i’ve played 36 a few times, but can’t remember. it would have been rare. an occasional emergency 9.

 

i did play 5 days per week and practice the other two for a few years. i can’t remember not having a club in my hand every day then.

 

now, i think 12 holes is enough. 🙂

I'm with you Jack. I can remember my dad and grand-dad saying, 'There's always something to do". I call it being in the "state of go". Can't say you'll ever feel totally recharged but can say for certain it'll make an old man out of you. It's just part of being a middle aged man taking care of business.
