Yeah, also fortunate that there's two state recreation areas (8000 & 5400 acres respectively) close to home that offer multiple outdoor opportunities including hiking trails.  The Mrs. and I took several walks  back during the spring shutdown.  Should be taking advantage of them more often.  Ride my bike out to the nearest a couple times a year ( > 2 miles away).  

 

Forest Bathing.  I like that, apt descriptive.

  Back when I was into motorcycles , I had English bikes as in the 70's nobody cool wanted a rice rocket and Harleys were slow and didnt handle

    When they ran - English bikes were amazing- Bonneville, Bsa Lightning  ( bastxxx Stalled Again) ),  Norton Commando

     Unfortunately most leaked oil, vibrated nuts and bolts off and had Lucas Prince of Darkness- electronics

 

 The best bike I was fortunate to ever ride was a  Vincent Black Shadow -- amazing and beautiful piece of art ( belonged to a friend who was a pro hill climb racer)  --

Ha! You reminded me of the neighbor we had when we last lived in SoCal. They had a pool in the

back yard and told us they skinny dipped all the time in it. Well, their back yard was not exactly

private and I asked them about people sneaking a peek over their short fence. The wife immediately

chimed in and said "I guarantee you they look at me naked once, they won't look again".  It took

a couple minutes for us all to stop laughing........................which brings to mind...............

 

We were at a friend's house here in Bama and they had these bluegrass parties every now and 

then. People would bring whatever instruments they had and a good time was had by all. This

one guy, his name was George, was the star of the party one night when he broke out and

sang this song he called "I just don't look good naked anymore". He had us all in stitches, lol.

I wish I could remember the lyrics but I can't..........maybe that's a good thing.

I look like a 5 months pregnant stick man.

      I used to walk, up to 10 miles a day every other day. Had some cheap thing that would hook onto your pocket that had the time and other stuff. Worked really well, for a while. I usually did 19 minute miles, could get down to 17 but felt like I was all discombobulated with no smoothness. Stopped walking when people started showing up and walking, running all over the place instead of the one way right way way way. Started being an obstacle course and got sick of that so just stopped. 

      Funniest thing that happened walking was one day I had my usual heavy jeans, tee shirt sunglasses and hat on. Liked the heavy jeans since it gave some restriction to movement. And made me sweat big time. Just mopping along and this pushing 70, very in shape petite women  comes up besides me to pass. She smiles, I cooly noded, and then she proceeds to turn around backwards whilst next to me. She big ol smiles again, I start cracking up, and she passes me. A bit down the trail she turns around, blasts off, and is gone seriously motoring away. And I was still laughing.

The only problem with English bikes was the Lucas electronics which were aptly nicknamed "The Prince of Darkness" I messed around with a couple of Triumphs and at one time had a set of BST Tools. My 650 Bonnie had a magneto on it. When NC passed the headlight on all the time rule I just ran a battery and charged it.

I occasionally get passed by some motoring ladies. Since they are 30+ years younger, it doesn't bother me, lol.

Cobi and I were just gonna stay home but our neighbors down the street invited us over so we

decided to go. They both had covid a few months ago so we figure it's safe to go over.

Thanksgiving is an American thing, some over here use it as an excuse to party but it is not a recognised holiday.

I love me some Thanksgiving. We were all about the food. Party? Yes but no alcohol. Lived in a dry house. Thanksgiving is:was about being thankful for what God had done to provide for our needs. Was very simple. Turkey and gravy, ham , mash taters, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, sage or oyster dressing, green beans, rolls and pumpkin pie . Married into a family who drink but they never had it during thanksgiving. So it was kinda like home. 
factoid: The original Thanksgiving, no Turkey was served. Fish and venison were the main courses. 
 

I am not dry but I keep the tradition up.

My first job after we arrived in Australia was a family owned and run engineering company in Brisbane. They were tea total and deeply religious, they did not use profanities. After I had worked there a few weeks we were invited to their home, tea or coffee with snacks and then they asked if we would like to watch a movie, the choice was one of many hard porn movies, they had a very large selection,we declined. Went to their home on other occasions but was never offered the movie experience again much to our relief.

 

They were fantastic to work for, carried over their religious inclinations into the business, did not push it onto you but it was not far away if you asked.😇

In her youth, my wife was a reservist.  Periodically we would run into folks she served with.  One of her friends from those years married a fellow I knew from my childhood that I had played baseball with.  They had a small farm and ran a fruit and vegetable stand in the town next to where we lived at the time.  DW and her friend would see each other fairly regularly in that setting.  At one point we were invited over because the friend had some new porn movies that she wanted to share.  DW declined knowing full well where this was heading...  Don't recall seeing that couple after that point.

 

I guess you could say that I'm pretty conservative.  Others may use different terminology.  I've had my moments when I've come in contact with the racier side of life, but only in passing.  Never walked through the door to see what was on the other side.  That's not to say I'm a prude, it's just that I've seen too many bad things happen from the frailties of human nature.

And.............a good time was had by all..................not a stuffing fan but am a fan of stuffing. Just had to

be careful not to stuff too much lest the stretched food storage container start demanding more and

become a high maintenance outcropping.

 

When I was young I used to say, when it comes to food, that there are 2 kinds of people; those that

eat to live and those that live to eat. Now, in semi old age, I would like to amend that, like many

things I spouted in youthful ignorance.  I think it's possible to love to eat without necessarily living to

eat.

 

Oh well, overthinking is one thing I no longer excel at so I'll just say the food was great and I happily

ate plenty of it.

Christmas is almost with us, new tree this year, retired the old one after 29 years of faithful service, still in excellent condition in our shed, looking for a suitable recipient that cannot afford one. We try to help this time of the year as we as a family are so blessed. No decoration or presents, they are the rest of the days jobs.
