Does Srixon accomodate .5" and keep the swing weight to at least D4? I know Mizzy does but I really want some 765s.

Edit: I did ask them and was told they "try their best" but have no in place protocols to ensure SW, while Mizzy has told me they have lighter heads for overlength builds.

Have the 745s and 765s 5-PW, modus 120x and px LZ 6.0 hs, respectively. Also have the U45 with modus 120x shaft.

745 with 120x feel a little lighter than the 765 with the LZ 6.0s. Both are +3/4". Never checked SW. Doesn't really bother me.

Need to do a solid head to head with them still. Have been working on some swing changes so I didn't want to be switching back from club to club until I'm where I want to be.

I do notice a pronounced kick from the LZ. Starting to really like that feeling.

The U45 is a 20* and I love the way the club feels. The gapping isn't much of a problem going from 5i to basically a 3di...choke down a little if I'm really concerned about going long.

I was gaming a 4H but apparently graphite is weaker than the trunk of a tree. Top of my bag is 4w (baffler), strong 3w, and D.

I had a fitting yesterday and really wanted to leave there and go home to place my 765 order. The problem was, I had an absolutely brutal fitting. Chunk, chunk, chunk, chunk, shank, chunk, pure, chunk, chunk, chunk chunk. It was awful. This was with everything from my gamers to any other head shaft combo. It made it really tough for the fitter. I'm a decent ball strike (3 index) who never really struggles like this. I ended up being recommended the 765 head with Nippon 1050 N.H. regular flex shaft but I'm not at all confident in the shaft given how the entire process went and just how poorly I was hitting it.

So... Another fitting? Or should I try and find something close to that shaft that Srizon offers stock or free upgrade? Should I try and get on a Mizuno shaft optimizer?

I'm really bumming right now and searching for answers... Please help!

I like your idea of the Mizuno Shaft optimizer. I strongly believe in it and have been told by others (non mizuno reps) that it's simply the best out there in helping determining shafts. I got the 3 selected 3 years ago after a fitting and hit all 3 during a demo and the #1 shaft recommend was the one I still play (based on fitting me). Recently 1 month ago repeated the fitting and still recommends KBStour120S for me, which has always been the #1 shaft recommend and I couldn't be happier. Good luck.

If I walk into a PGA Tour SS can I get this done for free? I'm completely blind to this process...

Saw this a couple pages back and just wanted to comment that when my 765s came I gave them straight to the fitter to look at the lie and loft. The set was ordered standard and he said most came 0.5 degrees up on lie (which is what I needed anyway) and that the lofts were all over the place.

I don't think this is all that surprising. These things are mass produced and spit out on the machine, so the variability is probably pretty high. That's why I send them to a fitter, too, to get all the lie angles and lofts accurate; or you could do them yourself with the right equipment (which I don't have).

Bit of an update on this.

I went and spent a bit of time on trackman today to work out all of the yardages with the new clubs. I should start by saying that these irons just seem to get better and better - the flight, dispersion, consistency of distance and forgiveness is unreal.

One issue that did raise its head was the 4 iron. I was carrying the 5iron (which is turning out to be my favourite club) 191, but strangely the 4 iron only managed 195 on good strikes, but was also far less consistent and quite wayward.

Speaking to the fitter we looked at a couple of options and have settled on the u65 23deg with the modus 120 to match my irons. This seemed to plug the distance gap much better and is a bit easier to hit too which is a bonus. I appreciate that the face is hotter, but my slightly simple way of looking at it is that if 1 in 10 goes a little further, then I'm still better off than if I mishit 8 out of 10 with the 4i.

Looking forward to its arrival.

Anyone have an extended set made? I am tall and want +.5". I ordered a set like this from Callaway and they said there was nothing they could do for SW and they came in at d6.

I ordered Z745's +3/4 with s300 and they were way too heavy, around D 7.5. Im 6'2" 200 lbs and athletic but these were beasts. Got trimmed down to +.5" and still way too heavy. This is coming from Titleist blades s400 +3/4". Reordered +1/4" with Modus 125 and the weight is fine. I've never had issues with other iron sets being too heavy and ive played up to +1" but the srixons were just super heavy feeling to me at +3/4 and +.5. Standard is D3 and its a chunky head maybe thats why

I find your 4 iron gap situation very interesting. I'm kinda shaking my head about my 4 iron vs 5 iron gapping with my 565's presently.. Just took a lesson to continue to improve my lag and ball striking, but will consider what you mentioned about the U65 if I don't gain some more distance between my 4i and 5I too after my improvements. Helpful post, Thx.

Your not going to see much difference in yardage when the 4 iron is 22* and the 5 iron is 24*.

I use midsize grips and mine measured out at D1. Maybe you can use a heavier grip to achieve lighter SW if it is an issue for you.

Swingweight is measured with standard grip, all your doing is tricking the scale and the clubs will feel just as heavy when swinging them. Only real way to get SW down is to port the irons or use lighter shafts.

srixon did an amazing job on the 65 series. the 965 imo is the best looking iron i have ever seen. my buddy just got a mixed 765/956 set and they are a sight to behold. the milling and last etching is unreal and the chrome with satin finish adds a touch of class, even the 565 share alot of the looks with its skinnier brother and the hot sister named 965

Very true GC70. In retrospect it seems strange to have those clubs so close, especially as the gaps are quite large in the short irons.

That set, I've been very impressed with the 5-pw, so I'm hoping that the u65 will complete the set nicely.

Have you guys tried making that loft gap larger? Maybe bend the 4i down a degree...

That was one thing that was mentioned by the fitter, but I don't hit it particularly high and seemed to get strangely low numbers with the 4 iron in standard loft, so I think that would've been even worse if we'd tried to bend it strong. That's where I think the u65 will help, as the launch is a bit higher for me, but it manages to get that little bit of extra distance.

It was a bit of a head scratcher - I've never struggled with a 4 iron before and have played mp59 and mp33 in the past with no issues, but for some reason this one just didn't work for me. Even stranger is the fact that I absolutely adore the z765 5 iron and get great numbers with it.

I guess it just proves that we're all different and shows the benefit of the testing/tweaking once you have the clubs in hand.

Did you try the 565 4i? I'm considering going 765 PW-5 and 565 4i.

I didn't, but again I did ask the fitter that question. He thought that the u65 would be the best option for me, but I know there are quite a few people on here who have had a lot of success with the 565 4i.

Well I am official in the z765 club .Played the z 745 last year and swore they would never leave my bag.Didnt need to change, but my friend gave me a very good trade in and discount on my new ones,so the price was right. The little extra blade length was what I like in the 765 and the pitching wedges rounded shape look more similar to my vokey wedges.Hit the modus 120 and like it,but preferred the Kbs tour shaft I played with my 745.

They have been ordered today.Kept my 23 degree U45 utility iron with a recoil shaft for my 4 iron and order 5- PW.Life is good.

I'm thinking I need to try the z965, I'll probably list my new z765 heads here soon.

Who has tried both? I've played anything from 716 ap2 to 716 cb to z945. They all play similar for me. But, I want to try the z965 because it has a thinner sole but it has the srixon grind (can't remember what they call it)
