In case anyone wondered what the z765 AW (51-8) looks like compared to the RTX-3 50° wedge..

which one do u like better

So I finally got some swings in on the sim with my Srixon z765 AW 51° with Modus3 Tour 120s versus my Cleveland RTX-3 50° 10° V-MG Black with stock DG wedge shaft..

Not surprising that the distances were almost identical (average 115-120 carry), both felt great, the flight was just about the same in both, I think for me it comes down to looks, if you're one who uses the AW a lot on partial shots the chromed face will last longer (only my opinion there) as the RTX-3 I could see most of the strikes on the face. the z765 AW I had a hard time telling where I struck the face.

All said, I will be gaming the RTX-3 as my wife bought that for me before Thanksgiving and I will be adding RTX-3 54° & 58° down the road anyways.

I got to hit these at a srixon demo over the weekend, and man, I wish I hadn't! haha. I can't let my gamers go, but these would definitely make it out of the garage more than any of my other backups do. Look great, feel great, and for some reason, I was hitting them really, really far. Eventually will have some, I'm sure of that.

I've had mine for a few weeks now, I've played a few partial rounds and been on the range with them a few more times. I can't say enough about them! I bought:

4-6 iron 565's with Modus 120 shafts

6-P iron 765's with Modus 120 shafts.

(I bought the 6 iron in both because I could not decide which I wanted and figured that guys at the course could demo both.)

The combo of these heads with these shafts feel amazing. I can't believe that these are stock shafts for this set. I also can't believe the list of shafts (and grips) that you can get at no upcharge. To me, that is the sign of a company that wants to do its best to serve customers and help them get fit as well as possible.

My last set were the Taylormade RSI2's with KBS Tour 105 shafts. I hit these a bit too high and was squirrely with tempo, so when I went for a fitting, I opted for a slightly heavier shaft and swingweight. I am very glad that I did. My tempo is far better with these and the feel is out of this world. It's a soft feel, but a powerful feel at the same time, I'm not sure if that makes sense, but it feels and sounds like you can sense the ball compressing on the clubface.

I've played a couple of times over the past week and half with my 15 year old son and his direct quote is: "Dad, since you got those new irons, you are like a machine!" I'm not sure if there is a statement that more accurately reflects my rising level of confidence with these new clubs.

I've had these in play now longer than a lot of people in this post as I bought them, no questions asked, as soon as they were announced and released. I was just telling a fellow "Srixon" guy the other day that I fall in love with these irons more each day I play them. That to me is insane. I have never derived pure pleasure from an iron each round I play with it. I am confident on every shot I make with mine and I know where they are going and what I do wrong if they do not go where I want them to. I'm sure at some point I may be lured to the dark side of some other iron as I am a club ho at heart, but genuinely, this is my favorite set of irons I have ever owned (and I have owned plenty). If anyone is on the fence with them, I suggest you hop off and get on the gravy train.

Did you order from the Srixon website? I didn't see an option to soft step the shafts. Is it something that we can call Srixon to do it? Will it be extra cost? I saw people get it from Maple Hills GC, will they do it?

I did order from their website but through another site since I work in the industry. I get a very major discount and because of that, I don't get a lot of the customization options you would get. I got the shafts I wanted and plus 1" like I needed but I wasn't able to do a combo set and no soft or hard stepping. It's cool. I usually don't soft or hard step but I did want a 765/965 combo. The 765s will have to do.

I thought that Srixon was always pretty tight when it came to iron lofts and lies? Lately, I have been hearing some negatives, that's pretty disheartening.

My guess is that the LZ is on backorder.

I wasn't getting distance on my custom set so I had it checked and loft was 2deg weak. Just gained 20yds. Was about to switch to my old set but this will saved 765 for at least 2 months. Chk your heads if u ordered from srixon

Will do!

I have a combo set. Do yourself a favor and order the 765 in the 7 iron. It's just as easy to hit as the 565 and looks much better IMO. I broke it out at 4-6 565 and then 7-PW in the 765. Happy I did.

Was thinking of doing the same regarding the combo but the lofts seem to move around in the middle? Did you have them bent? Specs from the website would have them at 22,24,27,32,36,41,46.

I had my 765s bent one degree strong throughout to maintain the gapping. I have had zero issues with them and enjoy them more and more every round (cannot recall the last time I felt that way about a set of irons).

Just picked up my 765's with the XP95 shaft and some RTX-3 black satin wedges with Lamkin Crossline midsize grips with two wraps. Headed to AZ first week of February for the Waste Management so that'll be the first time I'll have a chance to hit them.

I have the modus 120. I had them in my 545s (before it was a free upgrade) and I don't know if I will ever change shafts again. I made the mistake of trying a Modus 125 and it was horrible. As for snow, a bit of a misconception given my username, but I'm in SoCal...all I've got to deal with today is rain thank God! I hope the snow holds off on you for your fitting session.
