I am planning to order 4-P of 765 Modus 120 stiff with a U65 3 iron. I am also going to get some RTX-3 wedges to match my Srixon set. Moving from Nike to Srixon but I don't think I'll change out my Nike woods next season.

TaylorMade M3 w/HZRDUS Yellow stiff
TaylorMade M4 Tour 3 wood w/HZRDUS Red stiff
TaylorMade M3 2 hybrid (set to 19*) w/HZRDUS Black stiff
Srixon U65 4i Miyazaki Stiff
Srixon 765 5-PW Modus 120 Stiff
Cleveland RTX 3.0 50*, 54*, and 58* KBS 61
TaylorMade Spider Black

Gameball: Vice Pro Plus, Srixon Q Star Tour

Okay.. after a trip to the Dicks Store and hitting on their sim.. the z765's with Tour 120s (stiff) are actually quite awesome. I only had my 9 irons with me (z765 & z945) but both felt great, the z765 is just a touch easier to hit, although much of that is due to the Modus3 being 114g and the S300's are 130g.

I'm still trying to decide where I need to cut the set between the 565 and 765. Is there a pronounced difference in feel in the 7-irons?

There is in the 6 irons. Such a personal question. I guess you would need to ask yourself what you are trying to accomplish with the 565 in those mid irons?

I'm just trying to get added forgiveness in the long irons if there is that much of a difference. I am now thinking 4 in the 565 and 5-P in the 765. I might do the 8, 9, P in the 965. I'll decide before the weekend is out.

I broke my sets at the 7i. Logic is that is the highest club I feel I can score with.

With the 7i, i expect it to go where I want, 6i I'm hoping to get it close to where I want..

My decision was 4i 565, because I need the most distance I can get out of the club for gapping. The 565 go further due to design and less loft. My next club up is a 5 wood, so I need to get close the gap better. The 565 is a little more clicky, harder, and springy feeling at the same time vs the 765, so I went 5-7 in the 765. I did that because they are still very forgiving and feel great. I went 965 in the 8-p because I have no issues with forgiveness in those clubs and still the 965 is a forgiving blade to boot. Then I get great feel and great distance and traj control in the scoring irons...

You should always get them checked, regardless of custom or not.

That said, srixon has never been more than 1* off. Tightest tolerance I've seen

Just a general question here, I know a fitting is in order to confirm but looking for some quick thoughts. Both times I've hit my z765 7 iron and 9 iron on the local sim, they ball markings were almost the same, this is the 7 iron that I hit new Srixon Z Stars of my own at lunch time today; I hit 8 shots. Based on the photo, one would either think go longer with the shaft or leave it as the mass of the z765's is out towards the toe a bit. (this is a result of all 8 swings, I did not clean between them, surprised myself at how consistent they are)

Strike looks consistent for sure. What's was your ball flight like? Left to right? Low or high? Normal distance and spin?

The video monitor was not on, just the floor unit, I was just trying to get a feel for how well I liked the Modus3 Tour 120s shaft in the 7 iron (winter is here in NY) my swings earlier this week with the 9 iron were almost the same results as this. Again, I know not the same as a fitting.

I did not really keep track of any of the data, I just glanced at the carry distance numbers off and on..

In addition to length check lie angle for your swing characteristics.

Back in - sold my combo 565/765 set with 105 shafts and got fit and orders a combo set with 125's. numbers were similar with the 120's but getting better dispersion with the 125's. the 120's launched higher and spun 300-400 more but can't argue with the dispersion. Both felt great

1st round complete with the 765. Played a difficult course with firm conditions Maderas. The irons performed as expected with great feel, decent forgiveness and nice turf interaction. My swing is so so these days (in the middle of lessons) but I did have some flushed shots and man they went long and far and the feel was soft yet dense and amazing! Very quality build and I really liked the swing weigh and overall balance. Just quality!! I feel the winner was the mid-long irons, had an easy time hitting them. You honestly can't go wrong with this combo and I am very impressed. I will report back after a few rounds under my belt.

Great looking irons

Guys coming from my personal experience if you order yours from customs go double check the specs mine were way off!

is this experience with Srixon or other manuf ?

Srixon custom order. More in the short irons. Lies were off in some cases 2*. Lofts some were spot on and some were off by a degree.

Is this a lemon or is it common? With modern quality controls and checks, I'm surprised that this is the case!?

Any other similar experiences?

Thanks in advance for sharing! :)

So you already have the clubs but are now getting fit?

Yes, I would say add length. +1/4"-1/2". Easiest to see if you can try a club +1/2 to your set. If contact is centered you've found your length.

I'd like to know as well. My first Srixon set. Curious what their customs tolerance range is for specs. Clubs feel incredible now though. Felt a little clanky prior to the adjustments in some irons.

I've heard/read that Srixon has one of the tightest tolerance in the industry, so it could be a lemon? Either way, I'm glad to hear you go them corrected!
