F6 Baffler users - still using it?

I just picked one up to challenge my bio cell 16.5* hybrid. Currently, I have a Matrix 6Q3 Stiff in it (from a Bio Cell plus 5-7W), but will probably test something in the 70g or 80g range. So far so good, it'll get it's first shots on the course tomorrow.

I had a great first outing with the baffler today. 4 nice tee shots, 1 good fairway approach shot, 1 mediocre approach (smothered it a little), and one incredible shot off severely dried out hard pan with sticks and rocks stuck in it. The hardpan shot shocked my buddy, he didn't think there was any chance of making solid contact from that lie. It's not normally a shot I'd try, but I wanted to see just how bad of a lie the baffler could handle, and it handled it with ease.

I just made a swing change to get more BS rotation and increase my SS. This thing went from being a strong hybrid for me to a rocket launcher. It launches off the face with authority, climbs to almost driver height and just goes for miles. It could quite possibly challenge my 3w on we’ll struck hits now. Amazing club.

Well, I was finally able to get my experiment out on the course yesterday (second Baffler-playing 1” longer then my current set up and at 16 instead of 19). I have easily found my driver replacement if it decides to act up. I hit it off the tee a few times yesterday and just smoked it and dead straight. Only about 10 yds behind my driver was and much straighter. Still can’t get over how good the Baffler has been to me since it came out.

It is still my favorite club in the bag. I have the elements chrome+ 7f4 shaft as the free upgrade option through DD and was nervous putting a 78 gram shaft in there but it feels very controlled to swing.

As someone who struggles terriblely in the long irons (really 5 iron and up) before my 3 wood with absolutely no confidence in what club to use, I use it more than any other club in my bag for shots anywhere from 170-220 (I have not tinkered with the lofts at all)

It will not be leaving my bag any time soon

I've used the stock Red Tie Stiff in the Baffler head, F6 5-6 head, and F7 5-6 head, with the F6 5-6 being a notable increase in forgiveness, and the F7 being a smaller increase... I'm sure a lot of it is mental given the footprint, but I even picked up another identical Baffler for the backup bag and didn't have much luck with it compared side-by-side with the F7 5-6 on the same shaft. The F8 hybrid was a pretty big improvement over the F7 hybrid, including distance, so now I'm thinking about going back to a 5w length shaft in the F7 5-6 to get some distance back and eliminate the overlap.

Basically my setup gives me the F7 3w for tee shots when needed, and long shots that I am not worried about holding a green. Basically just get as close as possible or aim for a bunker. When I have a chance to hit a green at 210-220 I play the baffler. Where I used to use the baffler for everything over 190, I now have a phenomenal G25 3h that is pretty much guaranteed to hit that distance and is great from any lie. Having said that, I could work around the baffler if I saw the need to carry a LW again, but most likely I would drop the 5i and still keep the baffler in.

I like the baffler a lot also, great club, easy to hit. The only problem I had with it was distance. It just goes too far to fill my gapping. I usually hit my F7 3 wood at 15.5 around 220ish. The baffler even at 19 degrees is going 200-210. I really needed a club that goes 190-200, so I picked up an F7 hybrid that seems to be filling the gap nicely so far. I can't say enough how easy the baffler is to hit though if it fills your gap.

Turn the Baffler down to 16.5 a s ditch the 3w.

Good luck HHEMS. Don't forget the 2 weights on the bottom for changing ball flight. Have fun hitting it the Baffler past your buddies 3 woods!

My brother and dad both still have the baffler in their bags. They get used constantly from both of them and as far as I know, no plans on taking them out of their bags.

F6 and f7 better than f8? Was looking into a f8 3/4 or possibly a 5-6.

From Cobra Q&A on here. They said the F8+ is close to the Baffler with a few improvements. Regular versions (non-plus) of each FW are totally different than the Baffler.

I tested my F7 5/6w on Baffler Red Tie (41.75") shaft vs. F8 5/6w NV Blue 2KXV 43" today (same loft/lie settings) and the results (carry, total distance, spin) were basically identical with the F7 having an ever so slightly tighter dispersion. The F8 seemingly launched just a bit higher (or had fewer slightly low-launching mishits) and had an intangible edge in the "feel" department that I absolutely can't put into words, but nothing that could possibly justify an upgrade. I was really hoping the improvements I found in the F8 vs F7 4h (5-7 yards, tighter dispersion) would be there in the fairway but there was just no demonstrable difference. I may upgrade both the 3-4w and 5-6w anyway (this is WRX, right?) because I'm trading some stuff at Global and have nothing to spend the credit on (if I buy another dry-fit polo or 1/4 zip I should be locked up), but it'll be purely for the vanity of something new/shiny... if I do, I'll probably end up playing both 1" short given the slightly better dispersion I'm seeing from the F7 @ 41.75".

I've been hitting this club out of all sorts of junk just for the hell of it.

Fairway bunkers? Check

thick rough? Check

tight lies? Check

punch shots? Check

hitting into a long par 4 or par 5 in 2? Check

Best club off the tee in my bag? Check

I have zero complaints about this club. I've got mine at 19* and the thing is a rocket launcher. I can't seem to hit this club low, but ive got a 3 wood or 4 iron for that. I am in love with this club. It is my favorite in the bag by a mile!

Bumping this topic as I am curious if others are still using this one. It has never left my bag, but is now playing at 16* for a little bit to challenge my 3W. I rarely hit my 3W and the baffler is really easy to hit lofted down so thought about dropping the 3 for a 4w and adding a LW back in. Tempting to grab another one with the super sale going on.

Wish this one worked for me. I’m a low launcher of the ball , 9-10 cap slower swinger and simply couldn’t make anything happen other than low snap hooks with the Baffler F6. My G SF Tec 5w is so much easier to hit higher and straighter.

Still in my bag. Playing it closer to 18 so it's at 4/5 wood level. No real need for a "3" wood on the courses and tees I play

I use mine as a 5 wood. Love the feel, the trajectory, the look. Don't love the fact that one out of three goes left. It is now sitting in time out until it learns its lesson. My old Burner 2.0 has re-ascended the 5 wood throne because it doesn't go left on me unexpectedly. Hopefully the Baffler learns its lesson soon because I'd rather play it!
