Cmon we all know what this was about .. she just wants to play "the worlds sexiest" clubs

Lol. Lydia? The happy-go-lucky young woman with the pink and green shafts? I think she would blush if she was asked to say "World's sexiest clubs".

According to Golf Channel reports, PXG is "offering a sweeter financial deal."

I'm sure we will hear some spiel from Parsons how she initiated contact because she wants to play the best, blah, blah, blah.

I thought PXG did not supposedly pay pros to play their clubs?

Highly, highly doubtful. Why else would a pro bag their clubs, and don their gear? The results aren't particularly stellar at this point.

They all get paid, but Parsons said his entire staff initiated contact with him first and few got bigger deals with PXG than they had before

If parsons said it, it must be true.....

Very interesting. Great move on both ends I think. She will do just fine with what PXG has to offer and could easily still play chrome soft, Cally driver and Odyssey putter.

I don't think the Callaway driver is doing her any favors.

Maybe not but I think its a good thing that PXG doesn't appear to be too intent on inking players to 14 club deals. While I'm sure they'd prefer an all PXG bag the important thing is to get the bag and hat visible. The irons and wedges are very distinctive w/the weights around the perimeter. Maybe just throw the PXG headcover on whatever driver she plays.

Keep in mind Lydia didn't win the CME and $1,000,000 bonus this year as compared to the last two.

A girl has to do what a girl has to do.

And...if the truth be told, it's probably her mother pushing the deal.

Why does everyone paint her mother as the dragon lady stereotype? From all accounts she seems reasonable compared to the wiesy. We tend to forget Lydia is still a teenager.

Lydia's Mom is known for being very hands on, much like BJ Wie. The question has been asked who actually is deciding the fate of the caddies and considering she's had some really good ones, it doesn't appear to by Lydia. Lydia wanted to get an additional tattoo and her Mother said no. Respectfully, regardless of your opinion on body art, she's 19, making millions and while parental guidance is great, you gotta let kids grow a bit and learn.

There was also a situation where money for Lydia's career development went from KDB Bank in Korea, through a charity in Auckland and to Lydia's parents. Ko's parents were allegedly the ones who asked the New Zealand charity for assistance with processing the money so it didn't become public knowledge. When it became public knowledge they said they didn't know how the charity worked and how funds were distributed.

According to this article it was the KDB Bank that wanted to 'hide' the donations,

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11415767

"The saga arose after the Korean Development Bank (KDB) wanted to assist Ko but feared being criticised for supporting a non-Korean citizen, the Herald can reveal."

Not saying Ko's parents didn't know what was going on but it is well within the bounds of reality that they didn't understand that it was wrong to use a 'Charity' organisation that way.

To believe the parents chose the caddie for the #1 ranked player is far-fetched.

Actually for an Asian mother to allow a 17 year old daughter to get "tatted up" is considered a pretty long leash. Most would faint upon such a thought. The Wunderkind has at least one, and rumored to actually have more. (cool)

What a grab if true. The first stable of PXG players where in the later half of their careers, the second wave was up and comers that may have dropped off some after early success, now to get a player on the rise, at the peak of her tour, that's a huge signing.

As the Ladies don't garner the same endorsement dollars as the men, this must be a big deal for her, and an opportunity to make a positive professional move.

I don't totally disagree, but I'd say Gerina Piller's and Alison Lee's best days are still ahead of them.

Agreed. With PXG in the bag I look for them to double their 2nd place finishes in 2017.

I don't think the Callaway driver is doing her any favors.

Could be the swing change she is in the process of making.

No doubt. When you're swing is off, as hers has been for the past few months, it really doesn't matter which driver one has in the bag.

If I'm not mistaken, Parsons lured a number of Ping designers to the new company. I imagine their drivers are fairly competitive. I watched/heard Billy Horschel hit his driver this past Sunday, and it sounded like a Ping.

The PXG driver performed poorly in the WRX testing. It's short and spinny. Horschel hits it well because he's a great driver of the ball. It's expected that PXG comes out with a better driver this year.

Tata winning. Will now join the rest of the sad sack woman on the staff. Gets rid of caddy, gets rid of callaway. Maybe she can emulate Yani Tseng. Maybe get rid of Leadbetter also.

I think only Christie Kerr has won a tournament playing the irons and that was only because of her usual reason for winning holing putts from everywhere..

Huh? Lydia won pre-Callaway. What makes you think she won't continue with a new set of clubs? Yeah, there might be an adjustment period, but she's Lydia.

I liked Jason, but caddies are over-rated. She won numerous times with a revolving door of local loops. At the end of the day, she has to execute the shot.

You stated the real key. Putting. All of the top players, men and women, have had hot putters. Tiger. Donald. Rory. Spieth. Day. Ai. Inbee. Stacy. Lydia. When the putter cools, so does the #1 ranking. The irons in the bag are the least important piece of equipment.

Nothing to do with callaway or the clubs she won with before. It is more about the PXG clubs that nobody seems to win with. Although there are numerous examples of players leaving clubs and never winning again. Calcavecchia left ping never won again until back to ping, Yani left Adams hadn't won again, Daly left ping and then Wilson never won again.

Besides Lydia, who was winning before signing with Callaway, how many of the top LPGA players are with Callaway? It's not like they're backing top talent these days. If I'm not mistaken, none of the top 30 are signed with them.

Sooooo.....Titleist is suing them for patent infringement?

I'm a huge Titleist fanboy but this gave me a chuckle. I wish I could nominate it for post if the year. Hopefully Titleist settles with PXG out of court. Could get messy.

Purely tongue in cheek but the last Titleist driver I owned that I really liked was the 910 . I know its not forever ago but it seems like they've fallen behind the competition. When I hit the 915 D2......meh. They don't seem to be moving anybody's needle right now and that's a shame because I'm a fan of the brand myself. But not a loyalist.
