You HAVE to spend money these days, period. Wilson lived on Paddy Harrington for years, as Mizuno did with Luke Donald, and Ping with their small stable. Then again, look at the money Nike spent, and couldn't make it. It's a tough business! Wilson irons set the standard. Anybody that knows ANYTHING knows that all these TOP wedges on the market (Vokey ruling the game), are copies of the old Wilson JP series of the 80's. Wilson will hold their own in the game, with inferior companies like Taylor Made spending a zillion dollars to compete. (Even though Taylor makes the best woods, that's about it!).....

I love my FG100 irons. Hoping to try the WS tour ball this spring.

Ditto, working on an all Wilson setup, except the putter

I can tell you the ball is awesome .. Got to try it as a proto ,their best yet!!

I can second that on the new FG ball!!

Nice, will just need to source them in the Spring

I don't know how much play these are going to end up getting but I'm sure it'll be a little. Right now, I'm trying to figure out a nice, subtle paint fill scheme. I'm not into tarting them up....they're a little too distinguished for anything crazy imo. I'll update the photos as I progress.

ha! funny i was gonna hit you up on the Purchase thread and saw you here...

I TAKE IT ALL BACK... classic look for these bad black beauties...

NOW SINCE THESE ARE BLACK you could possibly do the red part of the shield, and make the w & s white... OR...

make the above adjustments where ONLY WHITE would be used where the above image scheme REVERSED... what is black above becomes white and vice versa.

just an idea -- and jelly as all get up of those irons, man...

I’ve got an old set of Goosenecks that have original shafts. I’m thinking of getting them refurbished. Just not sure it’s worth it. Opinions?

And where on the west coast could I take them for evaluation?

Sorry for the slow reply but I just saw this. Dean Ota at Quality Golf in Santa Ana has been doing custom and production work for many mfrs and Touring pros over the last thirty years and is now specializing in the refinishing of forged irons. He's done several sets for me that have been returned as new. Of course, the better they look when you give them to him, the better the result. The less material they have to belt off, the better. He tends to want to take every single little spec off and sometimes the stampings can suffer, especially on the backs of the clubs. You could send him an email and he'll give you an evaluation of what you can expect. Sometimes, if you're not married to those Goosenecks, it's a good idea to buy a great set without much wear on eBay, and have them refinished. You'll rarely be into a classic set in like-new condition over $300.. That's a pretty cheap hobby by today's standards. Good luck with them!

Thank you for all your suggestions on the paint fill, including the ones advising that I leave them alone. Believe me, I considered it. This is the first scheme and I think our first try is about as good as it's going to get. I'm inclined to go with it if y'all are ok with that <g>.

I just purchased a complete (circa 1986-1987) (New Old-Stock) set (3 - PW) Wilson-Staff Fluid Feel left-handed as well as a (New Old Stock) non-Fluid Feel left handed 2 Iron and Sand Wedge.

I currently play Wilson Staff C200's, and will likely mostly play those just due to their launch and forgiveness. That being said, I am looking forward to using this set to improve my swing and occasionally break them out on the course as a change of pace. But who knows, it might end up where I use them more and more.

This might be anathema to modern theory, but I feel that if you can learn to hit clubs like these, then you will crush modern clubs.
