Interesting thing about DJ injury and WD

Tiger was a trained navy seal and build like an nfl middle linebacker. Of course he was tougher. That's like asking if water is wet

And he won a major walking around on a broken leg. A freekin' broken leg. Also, show me any of these softies today that can "pop back" dislocated carpal bones and keep playing.

LOL!.....that carpel story certainly got some mileage (as we all know it's total bs).......

I might be in the minority but the #1 player in the world who is young and fit hurts his back.

He then has specialists and Dr's saying theres no damage and he wont do anymore damage by playing. He goes onto the range and with Butch at his side hits full blooded drives without a flinch. Then an hour later withdraws.

We've all had bad backs and played and usually you put your hand on the pain if it even twinges after the swing. He didnt.

As there could be no further damage he would have got more kudos for trying to play and if it really got worse we would all understand, even if you could see him protecting it on the range I would understand.

Anyway, dissapointing for fans/organisers etc etc when all the public evidence showed he was still swinging with no chance of damage.

If it was really that bad you wouldnt even have hit the range..........in my opinion.

/right, let all the DJ fans fire away.....

When did anyone say there was no damage and that he couldn't hurt himself anymore?

erm the Dr and specialist, relayed by Butch Harmon himself on National TV

Clearly that physician had Xray vision.

oh dear some people need it spelled out for them.

It was the Doctor and specialist that visited Mr Johnston and conducted an examination and gave a prognosis. Is that clear now? jees!

DJ said the pain was not in his backswing but after impact.

This really surprised me.

Tiger said that the reason he could play in 08 was because his knee hurt after impact, so it didn't affect his swing- it was just a pain management thing after the ball was gone.

I'm not saying DJ is soft but... maybe Tiger is just tougher?

Yea yea, Tiger loves to exaggerate the extent of his injuries right?

Ask Tiger whats worse knee or back... yeah thats what i thought

There isn't a single article that says he went to a hospital and had an Xray or MRI. He was treated by a doctor at the house.

If you watched ANY of the video from the range, he was wincing with regularity.

Who is this Mr Johnston anyways? I can see why you are a little confused here. Must be thinking of someone else

run of the mill driver with stock shaft
a couple of outdated hybrids
shovel-ier shovels
wedges from same shovel company
some putter with a dead insert and
a hideous grip

you sir just keep on making stuff up!! who said anything about xrays or MRI's? I watched the range with DJ and Butch and no wincing (as already stated)

I cant have a discussion with someone who makes stuff up and cant follow a simple discussion.

Enjoy the rest of the Masters viewing from your bubble.

Here's what Dustin Johnson had to say. I'm not sure if you believe HIS words but here goes.

From CNBC.com http://www.cnbc.com/2017/04/06/dustin-johnson-withdraws-from-masters-with-back-injury.html

104389715-GettyImages-665391446.600x400.jpg?v=1491509524

Dustin Johnson pulls out of the Masters Thursday, 6 Apr 2017 | 2:20 PM ET | 01:48

Dustin Johnson arrived at Augusta National on quite a roll, having won his last three tournaments.

He never even took a shot at the first major of the year.

The world's No. 1-ranked player was forced to withdraw from the Masters on Thursday because of a lower back injury suffered less than 24 hours earlier in a freak fall at the home he was renting for the week.

"I want to play," Johnson said. "I just can't swing."

He certainly tried, arriving at the club about two hours before he was scheduled to tee off in the final group of the opening round with two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson and PGA Championship winner Jimmy Walker.

Johnson took some easy swings on the practice range, headed back inside for additional treatment, and then broke out his longer irons and even the driver to see how the back reacted.

He was clearly in pain, rubbing his back several times and letting his caddie tee up the ball so he didn't have bend over. After an extended conversation with his coach, Butch Harmon, Johnson started walking toward the first tee.

His intention was to play.

His back wouldn't let him.

"It sucks," Johnson said. "I'm playing the best golf of my career. This is one of my favorite tournaments of the year. Then a freak accident happened (Wednesday) when I got back from the course. It sucks. It sucks really bad."

Have a great weekend...

Hopefully you are joking or you didn't read the extent of his seal training as written by the seals he trained with (hint did the fun stuff not the seal stuff). I looked through NFL statistics and can't find any linebacker in modern times that is 6' 185 pounds with chicken sticks for legs.. What's next he could have been an NBA player, unless you saw him fiddling around with MJ oops not so good.. there was one thing that was consistent during his "seal" training...he was cheap never offering to buy his own ammo..

Well of course they couldn't get into the extent of his seal training, it was classified.

Also I think Luke Kuechly is like 150-160lbs tops. Camera adds 10 pounds and there's always like 3-4 cameras on him during games

Luke Kuechly 6'3" 238 pounds.. using those cameras you talk about Vince Wilfork is 5'8" 185 pounds

Time frame of his seal pretend training was during Hillary's time in office...all of his classified information was available to anyone via her server in her bathroom at chapaqqua..

I am really at a loss to understand the criticism of Dustin Johnson in this thread. So what if he felt he could not play and respect both his body, and the game. That is how I would interpret it. You think he didn't want to play in the worst way? You think without an injury he would not be hanging around the leaders?

Come on, get some sense into your comments about the guy who has had up to now the past couple of seasons a great run to the top - #1 top that is. I don't see what benefit it is for "fans" to see a 3/4 fit golfer playing against this field on this golf course.

Maybe there are just DJ haters now, just like Tiger haters.

I guess the thing that gets me was this quote by DJ- "It sucks because I think I'll be fine by Saturday" He also stated he was swinging about 70%. So go limp though at 70% (would have been great in the wind anyway) make the cut and go hamsammich on Saturday when conditions (and more than likely) your back improve. It's the Masters for Christ sake! ?

He "thinks" he'll be fine by Saturday. He does not know. I thought he said something to the effect that why go out and possibly injure himself for longer if he knew he could not make the cut anyway.

DJ isn't going to make the cut playing 70% or even 90%.

Obviously we don't have exact info on what is wrong but we are likely talking about some bruise and swelling more than tears. That could likely clear up by saturday. Doesn't mean he can play worth a crap on thursday or friday

Please show us a 6'1 185lb NFL middle linebacker

Please show me a 6'1" 185 Tiger., lol. I've met him. He's not 6'1" 185. I know his Wiki page (if on internet, it's gotta be true right??) lists him at that but there is zero chance that's his actual size. I'm 6' and he's at least 2, probably 3" taller and if given 6' 2.5"+ and 185 than I'm no longer fat. My doctor will be happy about that. If I had to guess I'd say 6'3" 210. More like safety build (or an ideal WR-and if anything on football sizes I should know. I do coach it) but there is absolutely zero chance he's 6'1" and 185. None. In fact I recall seeing him listed at 6-3 and 225. I'd buy that way before 6-1 185. Given the football coach aspect I've learned to very quickly ascertain height and weight. Lol at wiki. (Again).

Then youre not 6' or tiger was wearing platform spiked shoes. Phil is 6'3 and is clearly taller than tiger. Hell ive stood next to vijay and tiger and viajy is way bigger. Ernie is bigger as well
