There's a reason why people with manners, use earphones to listen to music when they're in public.

Anyone who plays music on the golf course, that can be heard by anyone other than the individual player, is the same kind of person who's going to wear his hat in the dining room, leave the ringer on his phone turned up at a movie theater and who forgot everything his parents taught him about manners.

with all the threads on this issue,it is still just that...an issue with no end. ..It is one of the favorite topics of trolls too !

Did it just to troll hawkeye77. Jk. I searched on the mobile site, gotta say it sucks since after being reminded by 3 guys about this went to the Reg site on my phone and searched and it came up right away. Oh well.

Totally agree on all points. However, if a foursome plays music and another group only hears it when passing by walking to totally different tee boxes and will never cross paths again on the course is it that outrageous? I've never played music myself, but it seems to be growing where I caddy. No one is bumping it to the point where another group can hear it a fairway over, but it has sent some other members over the edge when hearing it in passing as described up above.

Played a team match today. One of my opponents was upset the whole round because without his music he couldn't get his normal rhythm going. Well duh, that's why it's against the rules as an artificial aid.

I have to ask since I've never come across it... what does "shingles" mean in this context? Obviously of his game, or off kilter, but I'm curious if this is a common golf term.

No idea lol. Spell check got me and I don't remember what word was intended. But he was pissed, upset and his game was out of sorts. :)

IF we're out hacking it around I don't mind it, but If I'm trying to get something worthwhile accomplished out there I'd just assume not have it playing. The real answer is that if it's low enough and isn't bothering other groups, then it shouldn't be a problem, right? Ultimately the course should make the decision on whether it's allowed, It wouldn't bother me one way or the other.

I hate it, I like being out in nature with the birds chirping and the wind whistling, it takes away from the experience for me.

Now get off my lawn ;)

THRILL!!! When did you come back? I agree, that golf is and should be played alongside of Nature.

You only think that's when other foursomes hear it, but in reality, foursomes hear your crappy music 2 holes over.

It's nearly dead quiet on a golf course, and sound travels.

I think the real question is can a 4 handicap male player beat an LPGA player if the 4 handicap male is playing country music and the LPGA player is required to use iron covers.

This is the thread that brings thrill out of retirement?

Nah I came back to talk about amateurs using staff bags and miura baby blades getting an 18 down to a 5.

Wait, baby blades make 18's into 5's? :taunt:

With the proper bag they will.

Do tell...

If I'm doing the math right, I can go buy an Epic driver, Miura baby blades, a new bag, and a Cameron putter and I'll go from 13.3 to +4 cap in about a week. Senior tour in 8 years and should be able to beat an LPGA pro as well. If I start a ferrule sanding business on the side will that make me a well respected tour pro quicker?

You might have to take a lesson or two and practice a little, too.

Well in that case I'll just get some good ear buds so no one else has to listen to my music and go play golf with my current clubs...
