definitely not lawsuit worthy, but I was pretty surprised how much he slagged the prov1 in the podcast. obviously his game doesnt compare to mere mortals but to suggest the prov1 was basically unusable seems a bit of a reach.

 

I was surprised too - normally I feel like players say their current gear performed better that "what I'd been using" or "the other ball, club, etc."

This track is big on hitting it straight and good iron play. My prediction - Top 15 but a late charge to get there. I think the familiarity with the woods and putter will help the most. He's been off since his wedding too so he's had 3+ weeks to test EVERYTHING with TM4 with the new set up.

I dont think there is any intention of the raw wedges coming to retail. There is another finish coming out this summer I believe, but it's not raw unfortunately.

Guessing probably a black finish? Anything other than chrome is fine with me.

 

The new finish is Bronze and is expected to be released Q4 of 2017

As far as the pro v1 diss and chance of lawsuit, I'd guess Titleist would be scared it would only tarnish their image more to go after Rory legally, not only does he command a lot of respect in the golfing world (for obvious reasons), it also brings his comments to the light of many more people (who they are hoping never catch wind of the comment in the first place). They likely want to let that one ride off into the sunset quietly as opposed to trying to bury it forcefully.

He's just doing the same thing the PXG guys did after they signed! It's Marketing/Advertising 101. Anything to get a few followers interested in the Taylor Made product. Look at Bridgestone's new ball commercial. Good ball, but the only way to tread into the ProV1 water is to try and stab them on television......
