Just went into Golf Town here in Canada, and the HZRDUS has a $150 up charge. That brings the driver to $750 CAD. Still planning to pick one up, but wow!

I think it is fair to say you will likely see the 2/17 and the 6/28.

I went and tried these out last night and compared the driver to my Anser and did a side by side comparison with my G 5wood and a G400 5 wood and I used my shaft in both woods. By no surprise the G400 driver was faster and farther than my Anser. 11 yards farther, 6 mph ball speed faster and spin was about 500 RPM's lower than my Anser. . Dispersion was much tighter on the regular 400 than to my Anser, or the SFT, LST. I don't really buy the distance numbers at the PGA store, it said I was consistently 305 with the G400 and 294 with my Anser. (I currently average 270 with my Anser in playing conditions) *Note I only tried to Tour 75 shaft in the driver because I currently have the Tour 80 in my Anser.

 

Now on to the woods. I tried the 3 stretch which is a freaking awesome club. I almost bought it just due to the sound it made at impact but I fought my urge. I hit 10 shots each with my 5 wood and 10 with the G400. I was surprised to find my current G was 2 yards longer and my dispersion was much tighter compared to the G400. But the G400 carried on average 1 yard farther than my current G.

 

Obviously everyone's results may vary but I'm very intrigued by the results of the driver and I may go get a more serious fitting at Ping.

Just picked my G400 up today. If I'm honest, I don't love it. Fortunately, I already have a leather PING cover that I bought when I got my G. It just seems kind of cheap. Should protect it well enough though.

As an owner of a Stitch and a Ping leather cover, I would go back to Stitch. The white Ping hc gets scuffed quickly, and the Stitch seems to have a bit better padding. That's REALLY splitting hairs. I think if Ping had a black one, it would be just fine.

I have an older set of Iliacs I use on my woods so it doesn't matter a lot to me though

Has anyone heard anything about why Ping recalled any of the G400 Hybrid Demos? The reason given was "safety issues"?

Wow. I didn't realize the hybrid heads were recalled in addition to the LST driver heads... what the heck is going on?

Yep. I called my Ping account earlier today. He had a conversation with his Rep and confirmed just that. Bad epoxy in the heads or adapter.

I'm not a Ping guy anymore, but I thought i'd hit one of the hybrids for kicks at PGAss. Honest to god I had 25 yards over mine on a 4H. The 400 is a solid club.

I hit it in a fitting. I liked it a lot more than the G personally. I like that "turbulators" on the crown is gone, I prefer the shape, it sounds a bit more solid, and, even though it may be psychological, I prefer the slightly deeper head, as it gave me a little more confidence when going at it. It elevated nicely as well, and I was hitting it with a Tour 75 (aka old Tour 80).

 

edit: to be clear, I mean the word "turbulators", not the turbulators themselves.

I really liked the 16* SFT and I live on the left side of golf courses. It didn't cause me to go left anymore than normal, I'd say the opposite when compared to the regular G400. It was as long as the 14.5 G400 with less side spin (I know that doesn't exist but for discussion I will cite it).
