Yo money, it's gotta be the shoes.

It's cool that KB is friends with MJ and I am a fan of MJ and his legendary trolling of all humanity. Keegan got a new putter and maybe he should try some new shoes too.

I don't have to know a person to see how they comport themselves and treat other humans. He is a weird jerk. It's obvious.

Out with the anecdotes on which you are basing your opinion. Surely you're not the type to base everything on one incident, are you? A weird jerk must be leaving a trail of discontent everywhere he goes. So let's hear them.

Miguel Angel Jimenez destroyed him physically and mentally.

How though? Jimenez comes off looking worse here in my opinion.

Jimenez doesn't look good but Keegs couldn't look worse in this whole thing.

I think out of all the posters in this thread I'm the only one who has spent an afternoon with KB.

Worked a pro-am this past summer and had him in one of my groups. I had a similar view of him as what some have said re him being a jerk. He really didn't interact that much with the guys in the group. Although he tried to record one dude who was absolutely piss drunk teeing off on one hole and hoping he'd fall over, which was hilarious. He was friendly to me as was his new caddie who use to work for Nick Watney

However, the other tour pros who I mingled with during the week had asked about my rounds and who I had in my groups. Talking with four other tour pros and caddies when I said that I had Jimmy Walker and Keegan Bradley almost instantly they replied "well at least you had one decent guy". I didn't even need to second guess who they were talking about.

That's actually pretty interesting info, but I'm actually now more curious by virtue of having Bubba as your avatar that you think he's a good guy?!?

At the end of the day, Bradley lost to a senior golfer in that match.

Never feels great when you're in your 20's and getting beat by a 50+ year old.

Golf is very, very hard.... when I see the guy posting 10 or so more rounds in the 80's then I will say something is up. On another note.... seeing a PGA pro shoot 80 makes me feel better about my 85 this weekend !

They make me feel better about my 95!

I always like Keegan Bradley, he seems like a humble guy and an intense competitor. He always seems to carry himself well, but he does become what it seems like a bit of a mental case during competition. I always root for him to be successful.

When a player kicks off his career like KB did people naturally assume he could be a next great star in the sport ---- the next Tiger.

I would think he would pull advice from his aunt (I believe) Pat Bradley. It could be that we've already seen Bradley's best and he'll never be a top-flight guy ever again, say for maybe the odd victory or two over the rest of his career. Maybe he was a flash in the pan?

Funny this thread popped up; I spent yesterday up in Woodstock VT at Keegan's annual charity golf event which raises money for pediatric cancer research at UVM through his Foundation. I've been lucky enough to attend it a few years in a row now, and Keegan always brings a couple of his buddies from tour up with him for the day. This year he brought Brendan Steele and Jamie Lovemark, guys who took time to help Keegan raise some money instead of going home to their families (Steeley lives in CA and Jamie lives in FL) as the Boston tournament doesn't start until Friday this week so many guys have time to go home for a few days. Says to me they think pretty highly of Keegan. A ton of his buddies from VT and St. John's also show up to support him. I'll say that he's been nothing but a friendly, funny, engaging guy at this event. He, Brendan, and Jamie hung out all day with us; starting with a clinic in the morning where they are mic'd up and field questions from the crowd and tell funny stories from life on tour, they drive around the course hitting balls with the guys playing in the scramble, talking some trash and joking with us, then host a live auction, have dinner, etc. His whole family is there, including his wife who is expecting their first child soon; he talks a lot about how important his family is to him.

He also talks openly about his "struggles" on tour, and how hard he's working at his game. As a few guys pointed out, a bunch of top-10's on tour this year, still alive in the FedEx, and #1 in total driving . . . I don't think his golf career is over just yet.

Last night in the live auction Keegan bid up quite high and won a family trip to the Ritz down in St. Thomas I believe it was, and promptly donated it to one of the families in attendance who have a child battling cancer. Pretty cool in my book to focus your Foundation on raising money for that kind of cause. His Foundation is close to having raised $1mm in the first few years (not counting this year) to UVM's pediatric cancer research program.

I can see how some of his mannerisms annoy people on tv (which he acknowledges and jokes about in person) and he's had a couple of exchanges that we could debate the optics of, but clearly the guy has lots of friends on and off tour and he's fun as heck to hang out with from my experience.

Thanks for a inside look, most of these guys are judged by what the news reports and what we see when they are competing in a tournament, neither of which is an accurate reflection of the type of people they really are.

Here, you can look at stats based on 60+ rounds per year. Straight from the PGA Tour Site.

http://www.pgatour.com/players/player.33141.html

I compiled them because I was bored and hate reading people dump on a guy they don't even know.

  • Looks like his advantage on the field peaked in 2013 at 1.5 strokes gained.
  • Dip in 2014 total strokes due to around the green and tee shots.
  • Flat in 2015 total strokes where around green improvements offset drop in putting.
  • Pretty easy to link the 2016 free fall in total strokes to putting.
  • Bounce back in 2017 due to improved driving and putting.

You can go back to speculating now.
