I had a game lined up at TV today if they were open. They weren't.

Tried to get Stix yesterday and he was concerned about today's weather.

PQ had baby duty.

So this morning, I went to Pine Ridge solo. Wasn't going to get there until 10 and it was like 35, sunny and no wind and I was thinking "it's gonna be packed".

Wrong.

I think there was a foursome on 9, a single on 3 when I teed off. Then a twosome teed off when I was on 3 so basically I had the place to myself.

Just hit a ton of shots from everywhere. Played golf swing. Teed off from blue and white on every hole. Shot of the day with hybrid with a right to left wind on 8 from 205 to 15 feet. I'm starting to like that thing.

For those who don't know it, 8 is a long 3 that falls off severely short, long and left.

Fairways and rough not in great shape. Greens and traps were fine.

Hit the par 3s with 11/13 balls.

It was the bad wind there. Helping on 12. Hurting on 13 and 15.

The big trees are all gone from the right side of 12. It's now a horrible par 5. One of the worst 5s around. All the other 3 shotters there are nice.

Any recommendations for club builders in Maryland that can assemble clubs to a desired swing weight/length and lie?

I have a project iron set in mind but want to find someone who can assemble to spec.

Bubba - it's holding up pretty well. It got new owners 2-3 years ago and they have been putting some money into it. They've went to all Bermuda fairways and that has really helped conditions, especially in the summer. Greens are better now condition-wise than they were 5+ years ago, although they can still get beat up during the summer. Still not sure it is worth the trip for you guys up north given the course selections you have...could be a nice change of pace though.

What he said. The fairways were in good shape, when I was in them. The greens, though, were hit and miss. A couple were beat up and some a little slow, probably due to the weather. Price is right, though, and everyone is pretty friendly.

They sort of look like some old adidas Stan Smith (I think that’s them). But they are some funky looking golf shoes. Not a fan.

Bubba is wearing the white men can't jump version of a high top golf shoe. G-fore. Even eaglegrintcorp won't support them.

Incorrect. I have posted about their CS when I had a glove that ripped (excellent experience) and have lusted after several of their shoe designs.

Note: The shoes bubba was wearing was NOT one of those designs btw.

Solid ideas there. I don’t think I’m going to drop $60 on his video series, but I will think about the book for Fathers Day. I like the idea of hitting draws and fades for practice though. That’s always been more fun. No if only I would practice!
