I have a new least favorite golfer. Cant-play. It's insane. He's worse than Kevin Naahh at #peakNah.

 

We need him to win. Gotta get him those Ryder cup points because he is good and will be a huge addition to the team

The pace of play on that lead group is painful. Pat Cant is very slow over the ball. Just starts this weird shuffle with his feet.

I don't understand the hate for bubba. I mean he clearly has some weird mental issues and he makes a concerted effort to deal with it.

 

It's mesmerizing to listen to people who are near geniuses at a particular craft talk at length. Like the guy who created the real housewives was on bill Simmons podcast and it was sooo interesting. i love getting a window into their minds. Watching bubba play golf is kinda like that.

 

Also you're not allowed to talk about the pat cantlay feet shuffle if you haven't dealt with some level of back pain.

People don't like Bubba for reasons well beyond being weird.

 

He's apparently quite an a-hole (some of it public) while also acting overtly Christian which makes him an a-hole and a hypocrite.

 

All the media seem to really disdain him which normally doesn't mean a whole lot but they all seem to really be on the same page here.

 

Read Slaying the Tiger by Shane Ryan sometime. He had a lot of insight into Bubba.

Bubba seems to have some kind of minor personality disorder. The sort of thing where 20 years ago you'd just call him a jerk and move on. When he keeps it in check, I enjoy watching him play. In the 3some with DJ earlier in the week, everyone was pulling 3wood on #1, and Bubba pulls driver and hits some low stinger bunt cut. That's fun to watch.

 

I like guys that have unique games, even if I don't like them personally. DeChambeau fits exactly in that category for me, as does Rahm. Occasionally their personality leaks on to the golf course and makes them not fun to watch though. Depending on how he's acting, Bubba can be one of the most or least fun people to watch on any given day.

Defflove and hate with Bubba. As a golfer, outside of beating the living crap out of caddie,he is a genius. Unreal skill, mind, thought. We followed him for nine holes at Augustaduring the practice round, he shot shaping, creativity, and power was amazing to see in person. Never had a lesson ever...doesn’t get much better than that IMO, he is who he is. Crazy over the top religion, diet and a few other off course things make people hate him. Good for him on the win today, and crying his eyes out on national TV.

I love watching Bubba play golf, but just can't stand the dude as a person. I'm not wishing bad things on him -- he's just a character I dislike in the tv show of golf we all watch. I kind of hope he's in contention a lot, but doesn't win. Such a phenomenal player with a douchey personality.

Now of course the answer somewhat depends on how far away the chipping mat is from the beer pong area, but I think anything 12 feet or less I'm grabbing my 54 deg wedge. Play it a little further back in the stance and hope for some bounces as I try to drive it in low enough to catch a cup.
