Most Trusted: Fabb. Always go with the germophobe when you want to be sure something's clean.

 

Least Trusted: CityGame. The complete opposite. As he has mastered relieving himself on most horizontal and vertical surfaces, I'm sure the thought of relieving himself on something spherical would be too tempting.

GTM: I'd need to assess the lie the turf gives you, the receptiveness of the board with the cups, the type of ball, the wind, humidity.

 

I'm guessing that astroturf gives a lie you can get away with and so probably the 60 which gives me a few more traj options.

UMD game went down today. Fueled up at College Park Diner before the game.

 

Siegel, MTN and Mat with one T went out in front of us.

 

Me, pq, Domes and Hoop (playing for basically the first time since turkey shoot?) played Wolf.

 

Wolf : player A is wolf and tees off. B tees off. A gets to decide if he wants B as his partner. If not, he can then pick C after he tees off. If not, he can pick D after he tees off. If he doesn't want anyone, he can go solo. If you Win a hole, you get a dot. Then you pay up the ladder at the end. Wolf rotates each hole.

 

So, on 1 I'm wolf and domes is stroking and smashes one down the pipe so I grab him. His net bird is good and he declares he's getting 18 dots. That lasted 0 holes.

 

Hole 3 (short 4) Hoop smashes a Driver past the bunkers to position A. Domes is mum. I go "you guys ride here together?"

 

Domes, "no. Cause I gotta get groceries after."

 

"ah, cause that was gonna be an awkward ride home."

 

Domes, "ahhh, all right. I'll take hoop."

 

So I smash hybo down the middle and Me and Hoop hit the green and I proceed to 3 putt. Hoop pars. Well played domes.

 

Anyway... Hoop grabs me on par 3 4th after I hit the green and we're looking good, but domes Sinks a bomb for bird and Hoop misses from 8 feet. Grrr face.

 

I go solo on 5 which looked good as I have 8 feet for bird but left it on the lip and par halved. Grrr.

 

6, hoop is stroking but hit it in the woods. Q picks me in the middle of the fairway, but hoop hits his second in front, then Jacks a chip which slams the pin and stops a foot from the hole. Grrrrrrrr. Luckily, I sink a 35 footer from the fringe for birdie and the halve.

 

It kept going on the back. PQ takes hoop on 10 after he hits a nice drive. Well, I hit my approach to 12 feet and Hoop has a downhill, wet lie and hits it to a foot. It almost went in. Gimme.

 

I hit the lip again. Red Fury Rising.

 

11 is playing about 205 and Hoop hits the green (good shot), and domes wolfs him. Well, I hit one to about 15 feet. Hoop drains a 30 footer for B2B and I lip Again. I am cursed. I'm even* at this point and in last place. Hoop hasn't played 2 times in 2 months.

 

Domes has won everything at this point except 10.

 

I Wolfed domes on 13 and he helps my cause with a net bird.

 

Hoop is stroking on 16 and fortunately for me he grabs me because his net bird wins. He shoulda Lone Wolfed. Probably cost himself a beer.

 

After 16 we all had 4 wolfs so we said last place guy gets wolf coming in. That's pq and he hits one down the middle and goes Lone wolf. This didn't work out for him.

 

18, hoop is stroking and PQ wolfs him but hoop can't find his ball and I managed a 4 which tied me with Hoop for the day.

 

Domes big winner.

 

Fun day. Fun rooting against guys and making fun of bad luck. Weather coulda been worse. Nice lunch afterwards. Food there is solid. Pulled pork sliders.

 

Long drive home. Had to stop to pee.

Remember before Domes got married, when he and Hoop did ride together, and get groceries after the round? "Domes, you want meatloaf tonight?" "No Hoop, we just had meatloaf last week, and you said we should eat healthier any way." Don't worry Hoop, half of all marriages end in divorce.

10 days of being out of the office really makes one appreciate...not being in the office.

 

Fl Keys were nice, first time we've been down there. Easy to get to, cost of everything is pretty reasonable and the beaches/fishing were great. Return trip already booked for Mem Day.

 

Started cranking through Chefs Table on Netflix, not sure if that was a thread rec or not. Director/creator is the guy who did Jiro Dreams of Sushi. Really great stuff if you're into that sort of thing. Not all fine dining / "nice" restaurant type stuff either - one ep is basically about some whacko chef who likes cooking with fire out in the middle of the nowhere Argentina. Good stuff if you like cooking docs.

 

Wolf is the one game I think you have to play with a good/ready group. I feel like I'm always playing with at least one person whos not ready to tee off when they are wolf and then you have to sit around and wait on the tee box while they're screwing around waiting to hit.
