I've looked through all the Golf Digest and Golf magazine reviews of clubs this year.

 

The only club that makes it move is the Cleveland Launcher HB.

 

"targets mid to high handicap golfers who are trying to hit it straighter with a consistently high trajectory."

I’ve played my BioCell since they came out. I’m not thrilled that Cobra has moved on from the crazy color idea. If I were to buy a new one, it would be an F8 though.

Nope. I tried 3 browsers on my phone and 2 on my laptop. The picture link for pay now does not show up on any browser on my iPhone X. I also used IE and Firefox on my work laptop and the pay now picture appears. However clicking it does nothing. I can pay whoever PayPal direct.

Made a last minute call and got out to Meadows Farms today. Underwhelming day with the driver. Started strong on #1 (Island Course) with a long par putt, followed by a routine par on #2. Drove right on #3 and caught the top of a tree while going for the green--the first of many battles I lost with the tops of trees during the round...double. Donated a ball to the lake on #5 and then nearly broke my a** slipping on the wooden bridge to the green. A few more unspectacular holes to end up +7 on the front.

 

On the back nine (Waterfall course), I open up with my longest drive (240--over water, uphill and no roll) only to fat a 4i and making another 1-putt par. Par the second and hit one 250 on #3 but begin waging war with trees on the back nine...double. Donate another ball to the lake...double. Another tree battle...double. Then I get a TWACK out of my epic on 7--it sounded like the crown caved in--on another underwhelming drive but smoke a 7i about 170 through the trees to get the GIR and the par. Then I shank a 6i on the last Par 3...another double. I end at +10 on the back. Not pretty.

 

Putter was great through nine. A little spotty on the back, mostly because I wasn't as smooth. Cobras SLs still doing okay. My swing, not so okay, even though I hit some beauts today. Lots of walking since it was CPO and I hit a lot away from the cart path. Caught a break in the weather, which was nice, and was back home early. May be another week before I get to play again. Hoping to play Pine Ridge but it's a long haul, so we'll see.

Looks like Callaway is getting in on the matte ball trend. Their new Superhot promises extra spin from previous generations and comes in Red, Orange, Yellow, and White. I’m intrigued by the Red ones. I’ll probably pick up a 15 pack.

Bubba - it's holding up pretty well. It got new owners 2-3 years ago and they have been putting some money into it. They've went to all Bermuda fairways and that has really helped conditions, especially in the summer. Greens are better now condition-wise than they were 5+ years ago, although they can still get beat up during the summer. Still not sure it is worth the trip for you guys up north given the course selections you have...could be a nice change of pace though.
