What's going on lately with TGC? All of the shows I have loved are gone, Shotmakers is airing non stop, and right now, a hockey game is on. I'm all for hockey but its TGC.

My thoughts exactly. Hockey? Doesn’t Comcast own enough sports channel assets to distribute hockey someplace else? It’s staggering to see what channels and station assets are owned by Comcast. Wonder why your cable or satellite bill is so high? Media consolidation to this level is NOT good for the consumer. And the closest thing to hockey that should be on TGC is Happy Gilmore.

Relax. This article explains why GC had the NHL playoffs tonight. This information originally was announced last week when the NHL playoff schedule was made.

We've got regular scheduled programming here in Canada, 2008 Players Championship. I'd rather watch hockey than Sergio.

What else do you want TGC to show on a Wednesday night?

 

IMO I'm going to be happy TGC is still around while it is. With production costs skyrocketing on original programming you end up with shows like Shotmakers and endless re-runs of movies on weeknights. But TGC still has tens of millions more potential viewers than NBCs other alternative outlets so if they want to show hockey, have at it.

 

Honestly 10 years from now, heck 5 years from now, I hope TGC is still around.

When I clicked on the title of this thread, I expected it to be about Rory’s putting highlights.

Personally, I'd rather watch NHL playoff hockey than "the legend of bagger Vance" or any other terrible programming they plan on playing.

 

Even when they show PGA tour events it's not worth the watch.

 

2min between shots. Way too many putts. Commercial after commercial. At this point, it's not worth my time to actually watch the pga tour live, unless it's sunday evening.

 

Watching shot by shot extended highlights on YouTube is a much better way to watch golf...

I'd like to think I'm both a hockey and golf freak. So I'm partial and unbiased....

 

Like I said, what percentage of the golf channel current programming actually shows golf shots ( not commercials, infomercials, instructional bs, boring golf movies...).

 

I agree, I'd love to see more golf on the golf channel. But since they don't do that, NHL hockey is better than whatever else they would be showing besides PGA tour golf anyway...
