They’re pretty sweet! Here’s a comparison to my iBlades. Demo’d with PX LZ 6.0. 1.5 clubs longer than my 7 iron. Feel a little clicky to me, but overall they’re pretty darn good. I need a little more upright and they only had a standard fitting head to try.

Plus he was hitting off a mat.

Atx there was a video recently done by txg channel that says that the mat vs grass does not matter. I still think it does but it was an interesting video.

So a club and a half? We're talking 175 vs 160?

TGW is listing the Steelfibers as a $40 upcharge, Recoils are $33.

Yep, it was well done but I refuse to believe that hitting off a mat without allowing playing elements to factor into the evaluation process is the best measure of a club. I also understand not everyone has access to demo clubs on the course.

Well, I just ordered a 4 iron sight unseen.....because, you know, I hadn't bought any new clubs in about 4 weeks. Steelfiber i95 D1 red dot, to match my current iron set. As long as it goes further than my 5 iron and shorter than my 20* hybrid I will be mostly happy.

All joking aside, my P790 udi was kind of a fun experiment but really one-dimensional and I absolutely hate how mis-hits feel (like hitting a cracked wooden baseball bat against a steel pole), so I will be dropping it and filling the gap further down the bag as my iron set currently stops at 5 iron.

I500 smaller, less offset, feel better (if you have the swing speed to flex the face) equally forgiving, and longer.

Where would you say the flex point is in relation to speed? 80+??

I was hitting them yesterday, I swing 7 iron around 94-96mph. They feel super soft to me. Some friends were hitting them to, one guy is at 78mph with 7 iron and he said felt clicky. Another friend swung 85mph said they were comparable to 790's. So to me, for them to truly feel soft and forged like a true blade, you have to be 90+. Only time I felt anything clicky was off center hits and it wasn't a sharp click, more like a dull click if that makes sense

I'm not sure that their design goal was to make them feel like a forged blade. Even in their marketing they are calling the i210 the soft club in the range and the i500 as having a "ballistic" feel. Still, pretty interesting real world feedback on swing speed and feel, though. Hopefully, I can bring enough heat with a 4 iron length to get beyond the click.

Got fit for the i500s yesterday. No big difference in distance compared to my Apex CF16s (3-5 yards further) but much better feel, dispersion, and although just as high a more penetrating ball flight due to less spin. Surprised the Modus 105s were the best fit for me along with steel fibers. Ordered the Modus. Will check back once I get them.

How much is Ping up charging for the Steelfibers? $50/club? More?

Thanks

Never priced it but it was assumed to be around $50. The steel fibers were very nice...but the modus were just as nice for no upcharge.

My experience, same lofts, same shafts,

790 7 iron 196-206 carry

I500 7 iron 203-208 carry

Personally, I don't care about how far they go, I really care about getting the most consistency out of the smallest blade like package possible. That said, the i500's fit the bill perfectly. They did what I wanted them to do, they gavee a distance increase of about 15 yards over my gamers, they look basically the same at address of my gamers, and are noticably more consistent on mis strikes.

So you either play 8000 yd courses or play 5 wedges...8i 185, 9i 170, pw 155.... YIKES!

I looked at the gapping, my personal thoughts, looks like the 7 needs to be bent a little weak. I almost went with retro specs, but worried that it would go too high. The wedge is only a degree stronger than my mp18's. I'll get them bent however needed to not have massive gaps between clubs

Also those yardages we're indoors on flightscope, not sure how much I trust them. Once I get them, I'll check out Carry's on my gcquad, which I trust wholeheartedly

Lol, not sure when I said I was doing this for a living? I'm just a weekend hack that can hit it decent distance.
