All of our clients are off, and I bet about 75% of my office is out today. Going to be a pretty low key week. That's why I'm playing at 1:30 today, not that I need a good reason to duck out and play golf.

 

Actually HHS is not shut down (although I’m on vacation). Defense, Labor, Education and us are funded through the end of the fiscal year.

Hope everyone will have/is having/has had a nice gift exchange. Just finished mine with my parents.

 

They pleasantly surprised me this year. Received a dozen custom ProV1x's, a few gag golf gifts, and a Titleist Fitted Hat. Plus other odds and ends not golf related.

 

Need more details about gag golf gifts, and non golf related odds and ends.

NGTW : I said I wanted nothing. I was vetoed. So I picked out my gift myself.

 

 

I picked out a laser from laser optics golf. Will use it inside, and out on the actual practice green. I also got some socks, and headphones.

 

A copy of Space Jam, and a couple cute trinkets from the kids.

 

A golf shirt from the inlaws.

 

I hit the jackpot in the family white elephant - a box of the best MF'ing toffee on the planet (toffee is my favorite candy), and a motion sensor light for a toilet bowl.

 

My kids got a Nintendo classic with the pre-loaded games. That's basically turned into a gift for me. Suckers.

No no, THESE specially made balls are handcrafted by Rock Ishii and combines a special inner core mass with a combination of Graphene Microspheres, Secret Sap from the banks of the River Nile, and finely strained balata.

I am Dept of Defense. We are fully funded. But, I took this week off. My daughter is a contractor for the FAA. She's shut down and will have to use her vacation time to get paid.

I got very little this year. Didn't want anything. Wife got me a shirt that I will wear as a pajama top (for sitting around, not sleeping).

 

My nieces got me a t shirt that shows a geometry problem that says "find x" and there's an arrow drawn to the "x" with the label "there it is".

 

I got my wife a SHELTA hat that she will use for paddleboarding. That's it.

 

I started a good book. That was my most exciting Xmas event.

No golf swag for me. About a month ago my parents got me an "early" present that was a professional photo shoot with the family. That was cool, but it meant I got next to squat on actual Christmas day. Until about 30 minutes after the last present was opened, I forgot about the early present and was a mopey little baby about not getting anything.
