Thanks man, I spent three hours last night trying to watch YouTube videos about wildcards in VLOOKUP and nothing worked.

 

I also spent an inordinate amount of time watching Excel videos in Hindi that were not labled as such.

That's dumb dumb programming, Sully. You're better than that. There's gonna end up being cells with extra spaces, longer values than 3 characters to search, etc.

 

Isn't there a find function in excel that returns the location of the character if found? You could use that to find where the space character is, and use that in your right or left function.

 

I don't know what your bill rate is, DC, but you owe Sully and I each .5 hours worth.

Dataset will always have three leading numbers, space, value - so it wont change in that regard.

I made my roommate buy me dinner after I fixed an INDEX MATCH MATCH issue in one of her spreadsheets. Fixing a LEFT/RIGHT issue is a lot easier and may not approach the round of golf level, unless we are talking East Potomac. Maybe a 6er or a taste of some Blantons.

DC admitted that he spent HOURS watching foreign language videos on youtube, trying to solve this. We're deep into free golf territory, Sully.

 

Let's never mind the fact that Sully solved the problem all on his own, before I posted my suggestion, which was more busting Sully's balls than anything. I'm still trying to cash in my free round.

Check out The Pharmacy for great burgers and some craft beers. Parking is a little wonky as it is near a neighborhood with lots of cars and some restrictions, not too bad.

Bicuit Love in the Gulch has some great biscuits/sandwiches.

Find The Old Line Bar & Grill for a drink. The owner is from this area and I work with his Dad.

We were staying downtown and walked to Biscuit Love twice for breakfast. It was a good walk but the food/line was worth it.

 

Nashville was a great time, loved it.
