I enjoyed it so much. First real "winter round" of the year. I might have been the only person on the entire 36. Bag room was closed and I had to go in the side door. Played with 6 clubs.

 

I hit 2 balls on 10 and couldn't see either one because of the low sun. Found them both in the middle of the fairway and made par-birdie. The birdie putt was going to miss and it bounced off a "helicopter" that knocked it back on line. I actually saw the thing and thought, "well if my ball hits that, it;'s gonna need a kick."

 

I hit one off the tee on 11 right into the sun, and said, "I'm not hitting a second one because I didn't see it for a second." Found it in the middle of the fairway. LOL.

 

Greens were rolling maybe the best they've rolled all year. They were very fast and true.

 

I got a pair of those big Titleist mittens and the first time I put them on, I was like, "I'm going to be leaving these all over the course." Got to 18th tee box and realized I didn't have one. Ran back to 17 green. Walking to 18th green, looked back in the fairway, and noticed one of those mittens sitting there. They're definitely going to make it like 2 rounds tops.

 

Mandalorian was excellent. Guys in rubber masks. There was one of those power-droids that was definitely just a midget with a box over his head. I won't even mention like 5 of the casting choices because it would be sort of spoiler-ish, but it was so good. Passable action. Disney+ app is pretty good, except I realized that if you stop a show, it doesn't save your place. No bueno right there, I watched 1.5 episodes of Clone Wars (which I've never seen) and when I went back, it just started me at the beginning of Episode 1.

Montgomery seems to be on the brink every year. My son worked there when he was in high school, 10+ years ago, and it was struggling back then

Also enjoyed Mandalorian. Seems like a fair amount of money went into the production value of the show, though I think the lighting was maybe a bit too dark. Fun show though. Will continue to watch. Apparently a bunch of people had issues logging on/getting booted once logged on, but I imagine those issues will be rectified quickly.

So, full disclosure, I did not have a $50,000 cake after my triumph over testicular cancer.

 

However, if the doctors let me keep my family jewel, you all would have seen it by now. Maybe not on top of a cake, but I wouldn't be ruling out fun uses for it.

The clubs I've been associated with over the years have tended to go out of business shortly after my involvement. If you see me at your club, you'd better be worried! I leave a trail of destruction.

Billy looks a lot older and wrung out than 53. I think there was a senior tournament at caves Valley couple years ago and there was a woman following him around the course.

Wool socks.

Warm "joggers". These are the pants I split in a "BOGO" deal a few years ago with Eagle1997. I wear them all the time in the winter. They look sorta dressy but wear like sweats.

Silk undershirt, golf polo, thin wool sweater.

Fleece neck gaiter.

Winter hat.

 

Today I'm playing. I have pretty much the same thing except thick cotton socks.

 

Two things in that get-up. . .

 

The silk underwear is from REI. I've talked about it before. I've had this stuff forever (different ones). I find that it doesn't smell like synthetics. It doesn't heat me up too much when I wear it pre-golf (I have it on now at work). It's light as a feather. The pants and top are both good. It's not the warmest under-layer out there, but it's very thin and I'm fine in it down to 32ºF (with no wind).

 

Neck gaiter is huge. Everyone knows that you lose a lot of heat through head, but you lose a lot through your neck, too. Also, the neck gaiter can be pulled up over my nose, over the back of my head, tucked under my hat. It's versatile. And, if I get too hot, I can take off my hat, and use the neck gaiter as a hat, or as a hat with a vent.

I have been getting severe anxiety the past few rounds just walking up to where my ball should be. Doesn't matter if it's the fairway or rough. SO. MANY. LEAVES.
