So, I've already received my first email from someone who thinks the doctored "early hat" video actually happened.

Years from now, people are going to go, "remember when he took off his hat when the ball still had 15 feet to go against Ancer" and that's exactly how they're going to remember it.

This the text of the email. . .he included a link to the doctored video. . .I’m guessing this was a 2 or 3 putt for the win? You can’t be that confident on a putt so early, can you?

He has an interesting swing. He almost looks like he spins out a little, but has such a shift that it's not that. It's unique. I love his backswing.

i've heard FABB say that you use the body to help your arms swing fast. I don't think that's universally true, but i do think it's true for mitchell. One thing i like is that his hips are not wildly open at impact. it looks like a swing i could physically make. he just has a loooot of natural speed.

 

he's also an example of why telling any NOT to swing hard is a mistake. you think he's not swinging hard? (that doesn't mean max effort)

I definitely went into golf hibernation early this year. I'm going on a month to the day, without even so much as rolling any cream soda practice putts in my house. I need it. I definitely upped my time and focus on golf this year, so I have to redistribute that elsewhere for a while. Of course it'll be a bummer when the irresistible urge to golf starts firing, just in time for the legit winter weather.

Cycling back on a few things.

I'll echo City's sentiment that Kent and 2MT being the two people that couldn't overcome the great password reset of 2019 is absolutely perfect. So predictable, and funny.

In a shocking turn, I'll actually elect to not pile on mountain goat. Expensive means different things to different people. This is an affluent area. Even middle class is a pretty darn high standard of living. Spending $700-1000 for a couple days of golf, in highly volatile weather (basically, the last couple years pinehurst trip) probably sounds like a lot of money to somebody who's paying $30-40 for 18-holes on the reg. Never mind the fact that Pinehurst proper easily runs you $1000+ per night, for the typical package in-season. I could play golf for an entire season for less than a prime-time trip to Pinehurst proper would cost me.

MountainGoat was complaining about the price of a glass of scotch at a golf resort in a post where he also casually mentioned he drives a BMW, and belongs to a club. That's why he's getting the business.

 

Not because anyone disagrees with him that Pinehurst, in the busy season, is expensive.

Is the current inability to edit quotes a feature or a bug?

I want to be able to trim domes' to say, "he also casually mentioned he drives a BMW" and then immediately write, "well a 2 series" without relying on the comedic intellect of you dum dums to put together the joke on your own.

I think you'll have to copy whatever line you want to quote and insert one of these ">" before it. Doesn't look like you can edit the block quote it gives us now.

Just tried and that might not be right either. I tried going through the tutorial but my attention span is negative these days.

For the record, among BMW owners, a 2-series is akin to owning a Honda Civic. You'd have to own one to get the joke.

A shot of Mccallan/12 at Monocacy Crossing is $10, not $18.

My "club" is a senior MCG pass, which doesn't include the cart I never use anyway. The *offseason* rate for the Pinehurst Golf Academy costs more than three times that. Last time I was there, we played in the f***ing sleet.
